What motor mounts do you have? Why?

What motor mounts have you guys used?
Why stock or why solid? Is it like Ford vs Chevy or more like Pickup vs SUV? Preference or function.
If you can let some of us who know nothing about them learn from your experiences.

Thanks!

Re: What motor mounts do you have? Why?

I have solids in the Ty.... I wanted no uncertainty about them holding, and I wasn't too worried about vibrations. I daily drive my Ty when the weather is nice, and they haven't bothered me at all.

For the Sonoma, I'm going with ES poly's ... I don't like the stock design, but for what I have in that truck I don't think solids are necceesary. It's also intended to be a daily, but I'm not the only one who is going to be driving it and some people mind the vibrations (what little there are) more than I do

solids, and on the Sy i have an engine strap down, cause that's only a 1 hour job to make that, and going to better mounts is a PITA when the engine still is in the truck

Re: What motor mounts do you have? Why?

After breaking the second stock driver side mount, I replaced the driver side with solid and the passenger side with stock. No problems now.The vibration transmitting into the interior is minimal. There are some good posts on here about how to change the mounts.

Solids here. I would just put a engine tie down for right now Greg cause like said above, they are a pain without pulling the engine.

Solids. 1/2 done. Didn't want to ever do it again. They're out but not in. Now that I got the darn things out and I sorta know what I'm doing it's not that bad. Time consuming mostly. Different folks have different tricks. Lotsa good posts on the topic.

I have Poly mounts, but that is because I did them before I aware of all the melting issues. The are still holding up fine with my heat shielding.

I've got polys on the Sy, wrapped in some starter heat shield wrap. I've got ATR headers and have had no probs with melting.

The stock mounts on my Ty are busted, so I'll be doing polys on it as well in the next few days.

Solids here, will be going in with the new motor. I didn't want to have to worry about breaking them, or the engine torquing on me and breaking other components.

:stupid: The time, trouble and cost of other broken parts is not worth having to do it twice.
J/S mounts rule and this is a one time fix!

X4. The motor mount swap took a buddy and me 12 hours from start to finish. Never again!

A mechanic buddy of mine looked up what the job called for in the mechanic's time quote book. It said 3 hours and I told him I was gonna drop it off that weekend. He said, "the hell you are, I'll put a 1 in front of the 3!" He knew how much of a PITA these things are.

I find the interior vibration to be a little more than I expected from what everyone else was posting......but tolerable.

Which one of you guys welded your solids to the frame? (If I remember reading that correctly a few weeks ago..)
