Since my Walbro decided to leave me stranded today I figured i'd ask what's the lastest and greatest pump for our trucks now? is it still the high flow walbro?

i am running a dual 255 made from r.p.m cost a little bit like 700 bucks.. but one pump for normal driving and another one kicks in under boost with a hop switch

well it does run and will move under its own power but actually driving well thats another story and the pump is actually waiting on me to replace the stock tank with a small sumped cell.

If you didn't see the post a month or two ago, a lot of the 'Walbro' failures recently seem to have been Chinese knock-offs. If you paid less than around $100, it may not have been a Walbro.

Dual Walbros w/custom pickup assembly by RPM and RaceTronix dual pump harness. I also replaced the RaceTronix Hobbs switch with a 15psi unit to trigger the second pump at higher boost.

Is the A1000 obnoixious loud?

I'm in the middle of deciding on A1000 or the smaller Aeromotive pump (good for 550hp forced induction) http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=AEI-11106&N=700+115&autoview=sku

The thing is its the same price on the smaller pump...so its only a sound question

Nah haven't been on here much lately.. my 11 month old, wife and mustang have taken up any time i've really had to myself but thanks allot for letting me know... my walbro is I think 7 years old so im not totally surprised about it dying plus the truck kept getting leaner and leaner for the last two weeks or so so I kinda had an idea it was going to happen just not the same week that I had to dump about a grand into my wifes car..

Think i've read in a few spots on the net that people don't have good luck with the a1000 with street cars.. it's designed more for track cars

I have read about the A1000 not being very friendly when it comes to daily driving. Anyone hear anything about that?

I will try to find the articles later and post them. That dual setup sounds sweet. Too expensive, but very sweet.

+1 on the A1000. Not too noisy (frame-mounted with rubber isolators).

I drove it around a little bit towards the end of this summer, as well as driving it to the detroit BBQ a couple of months ago. Not so much as a hiccup. Just install it correctly (proper fuel line sizing, proper voltage/wire gauge, etc).

FYI - I am also NOT using the Aeromotive pump controller. Just keep the fuel level above 1/4 tank and you'll be fine.

I've heard that too. If one were leaning toward an external I'd go with the Weldon A2005 or D2015.

Tommy - when you say it has everything what exactly is everything??? I want to make sure i get the products so i can get it done this winter. Plus i need to change out my fuel gauge float so i decided to do both at the same time.

It should be the pickup sock, high pressure hose for use inside the tank (there is a difference between normal high press. hose and in-tank high press. hose), elec. pigtail connector, SS band clamps, and crimp connectors.
