Not if you have your front propshaft connected (ie AWD) and want your transfer case VC to live.
You need to match the overall diameters front to rear, or better still the revs per mile. This info can often be found on tire manufacturers websites.

This combination would give you a difference of 3.3%. A 265/40/18 front and 295/35/18 would put you closer with only 0.8% difference. The less difference the better. I can't comment as to what tolerance the transfer-case would handle. Maybe some other members have some experience with this.

So the 265/40/18 will not Affect the t-case since it will be under 1% correct?

Re: Will this work without issue???

I personally haven't had any experience with this and can't verify a safe tolerance. All I can suggest is to get the tire sizes as close as possible. a couple of other options for you to consider- 255/40/18 front and 295/35/18 rear would give you a 0.4% or 2.92 revs per mile. Or better still would be 245/45/17 front and 275/40/17 rear would give you only 0.1% or 0.6 revs per mile difference. Again you should try to find someone who has experimented with this and can verify what works.

Thanks for helping out. The problem is I just bought the wheels and tires and I would like to atleast keep the 295s in the rear and don't mind switching the fronts. I just need to know the correct size to get to match.

Re: Will this work without issue???

I don't know of any literature were GM has stated an acceptable tolerance for this. The only true right answer to this question is: You need to have the same size, same brand tires front and rear. Any combination beyond that there is a cretin amount of risk involved. Driving habits will also need to be factored in. Short trips of a few miles at slower speeds under 25mph is not so bad, although driving at highway speeds for hours at a time would definitely have a greater impact. I don't believe anyone is willing to stick there neck out and guarantee that you won't have an issue. The risk is all yours my friend. I will be curious to know the end result. only time will tell.

This thread here is the ultimate authority on if it's good or bad. Bottom line is the mismatch gets multiplied by the axle ratio, 3.42, which in turn goes to the transfer case... Basically, it boils down to what level of risk that you want to take with regards to your driveline.

Is this your bush?
Re: Will this work without issue???

Or you just dont do it and buy a set of nice matched tires and wheels. Ask me how i know.....staggered fit looks cool. Pain to deal with imo....good luck.
