So if you've been to the nats 3 times, what et/mph did you run? Who kicked you out? Or did you just watch? ::scratch'shead:: Because your claim thus far has been the worry that you will be kicked off the track. So if you answer no to my second question, there was no point for you to make this thread in the first place.

Yea, I did't think so. Only people that live in CO have seen this creation. Well you might see it at the Nats, who knows...

I have one Question about the NHRA rules..
Is´nt it a maximum ET to AWD thats states not faster than 11.99???

I could´nt find them on the net, and time to buy them hav em shipped here is to late. the swedis nhra rules we find in a sec... It would have been fair to take this discution BEFORE we shipped the truck not 3-4 days befor we FLY ut to US. how on earth are we going to fix this on a plain???

By the way our rules are the NHRA rules but translated to swedish and some tags are also (mostly on race suits and helmets) FIA aproved. thats why Robert bought his from Summit then he got the SFI aproved gear thats legaly here in sweden because these are nhra rules..

All the safetyparts are SFI aproved, cage built in dimentions demandet by NHRA all is to spec.. and we also aplyed for a dispece and because we could show the safety aspects to it we got that, it up to U to seek the same.. U can get a NO or a YES.. the cage as we know have all the right spec, dimensions is built by the BEST chassie builder in norther europe.. de different is the label/tag on the aproval.

let me clarify the awd 4wd limitation

in 2005 the rules changed from:

general reg

2.11 REAR END

four wheel drive permitted in.... running 12.00 seconds and slower

to the new 2006 rules:

four wheel drive vehicles running quicker than 9.99 prohibited.

So how do i run.

the same way everybody else does.

i spoke with nhra about this when the change happened.

guy asked me why i was upset as the old limit had been 12.00 and they lowered it because of the fast 4wd diesel trucks out there.

anyway to make a long story short.

what does a 4wd drive look like?

well it sits higher than anything else doesnt it.

so a higher center of gravity. <--- this is what they are concered with.

which explains also how talons, eclipses, and wrx's can run fast.

so dont be concered with the 4wd vs awd et limitation as its directed at full size 4x4 trucks.

his initial reaction to my inquirey was "heck we just lowered the et prohibition, it used to be at 12.00"


sure enough my 2004 rulebook did mention this.


talking with him it appears that this limitation was based on vehicle height for "raised pickups" and a stability rollover factor if they got squirely more than just using 4wd as a vehicle identifier.

needless to say since the old ruling was 12.00 et they really need to change the wording of what the rule is trying to accomplish. i.e avoid a rollover incident because of a vehicle having a higher center of gravity.
He acknowledged they need to do this.

so it appears syclones are still good to go.

fwiw me and harry want to see him run here ... see what it does.

keep in mind even if its not legal.

make 1st pass... they tell ya to slow it down.

make 2nd pass with more. they give ya the boot.

if its ready to run it will do it on 1st or 2nd pass anyway.

unless the track isnt there.

so do the 1st couple runs testing the 60ft and get out of it.

after you figure out how much to leave with given conditions then put the wood to it. on the final 2 runs.

problem solved. end of story

I've always gotten at least 2-5 runs in before someone figured out my non caged daily driven pump gass small block 2wd S-10 wasn't legal to run 10.50's at 132mph that was 13yrs ago!
They told me to not run the bottle where it ran 11.70's then 5 of the guy's in the tower ran the truck including the one guy's son who just got his permit at 15yrs old. They all made 11.90 passes with the timing turned down to try and stay 11.99 or slower. (that was the limit then)

hey guys....we need to back off everyone here....there is still a bunch of shit-talking, and it's crossing the line I think. We need to focus on getting Robert a good run here in the states. The only one coming to bat so far is either BullySyclone or Badnewz (if he comes - haven't heard for sure). It's great that Robert sent the truck here to race on an American track, but he isn't just racing the clock...he's come here to run our fastest. So we need to encourage whomever is going to step up to the plate, not kick him in the nuts! I have seen BullySyclone's truck in person, and I have to agree that it's place it at the Nats...the truck is simply amazing. A combination that NO ONE is running at all (and I dont mean the TT's). We can ALL learn SOMETHING from just sitting there looking at the truck, much less talking to the owner/builder.

So lets put the testoserone on the shelf and applaud everyone's effort in making it to Nats....and I hope that Bully and Robert get to run...it will answer many questions from everybody.

My Daily driver is a 89 Nissan Maxima... I put a TA49 GN style turbo and GN intercooler core. Did all the fabrication and ECM hacking to change the fuel/timing. Last year it ran 13.40's @107mph. on pump gas through the QUIET muffler. It has 220,000 miles on the stock engine. It's been turbo charged now for over 40,000 miles.
I put this together just for the Fart Can muffler guys that I can't stand. AKA "Ricers" I've got less money in the entire setup than one junk fiberglass body kit.

I have respect for cars/trucks that took personal time,talent and money to build regardless of what make they are.
