Looking for rebuild guidance on 93 Ty

Hi gang, popping back in. I'm checking if there is an experienced Sy/Ty engine rebuild tech, here in Michigan. My uncle's 93 came back from the dealer, after an intake leak repair, and "running the way it always should have been". However, it developed a "thunk" sound, low oil pressure, and...

    Banjo fitting at turbo question...

Re: Banjo fitting at turbo question... Well, you're right on not needing the picture, as it sounds that we are all talking about the same thing. Uncle put the mechanic and Sportmachines together, and he is awaiting the needed pieces. I'll know more, soon. Thanks Hey! That dropped my "new guy"...

    Banjo fitting at turbo question...

Re: Banjo fitting at turbo question... Thanks guys. We're in the Battle Creek area. Don, that's what I was reading about that "assembly". I don't have a clicky phone, so I'll have to have the mechanic send a pic through email, then forward, yada, yada... Do the washers have a part number? I...

    Banjo fitting at turbo question...

Hey, gang. My Uncle's truck is back in the shop, and they think they finally found a leak. I'm told it is the banjo fitting at the back of the turbo, to the I/C. I can't get to the truck for a pic, so I'm hoping someone here knows what I'm talking about. The mechanic says that he already...

    Slacker!

Hey, gang. I haven't been here in oh, about 2 years. Busy, busy... I'm looking for a set of OE wheels for the 93 Typhoon. My uncle just told me that a front is bent, and can't finish the alignment. I see that I just missed a set that's headed to the homecoming. drat. I saw a link here to...

Hey, the new guy's lost again...

I've searched around the site trying to find a part I need, but I don't know what it's called. Its the black steel tube from the air box to the back of the coolant tank. Mine is rusty at the bends and just above the distributor. Would you be so kind as to point me in the right direction? Hope...

    Ty charging system issue?

Re: Ty charging system issue? Wow: I've been gone awhile... The battery has tested fine, the alt tested fine, and there aren't any suspicious looking wires or connections. BUT, since the alt was removed, tested, and replaced, there haven't been any issues with the dead battery or bouncing amp...

    Ty charging system issue?

Re: Ty charging system issue? Well, a weeks worth of load testing, meter pokin', and a couple of road trips has revealed nothing... I'm going to get ahold of it again on my days off and clean the engine compartment. I'll check as many grounds and plugs as I can find, and see where that leads...

    Intro 93 Ty #0471

Re: Intro 93 Ty #0471 Thanks, gang. Yup, it is pretty clean. It had a hard go of it a few years back - stored in the wrong building... Different hood, L fender, air box, stearing column, but otherwise original. I'll ask questions as I think of them. Mostly, is there a turbo/intake guy around...

    Ty charging system issue?

Re: Ty charging system issue? Thanks, gang. My uncle dropped it off this morning here in Marshall - haven't heard back yet. The battery's from '05, and the mech. said maybe the regulator in the alt. Then they gave him heck for not driving it enough.

    Ty charging system issue?

A couple of weeks ago, I had the doors open while cleaning the interior of the Typhoon. When I was done, the battery acted dead, and wouldn't start. Quicky tap with the jump box and it fired right up. I ran the idle up to 1500rpm and watched the gauge, and it worked it's way up from 9 to 14v...

    Sonoma GT in MI

I saw a black GT out of the corner of my eye in Marshall. I couldn't get flipped around on it, but it looked like everything below the decals was cancered out. I'll have to pay more attention.
