Re: A2A guys step in I had the same issue with mine. I ended up running a slightly thinner core and making my own shroud to make sure all the air was flowing through. That pretty much fixed the issue for me.

Re: Leaking exhaustm, but where? I think there might be something else going on. Try taking off your oil fill cap while the engine is running and see if there is any smoke coming out.

Re: Wiring 2 speed fan with volvo relay. Nice write up. I almost did the same thing about a month or so ago. I have the low speed just automatically come on when I hit a switch under the dash. High speed comes on via a temp probe when it reaches about 185 degrees.
