    AIR TO AIR INTERCOOLER

I just changed over from the stock water2air to a KB air2air last weekend. It wasn't that bad of an install. Just take your time with the battery relocation (which took twice as long as the intercooler took to install) It turned out great. One PITA was that KB didn't bother to clean out the...

My sy acts like if its in neutral when its in Parking!!!

If the front prop-shaft is installed then the viscous coupler could be shot. Driving around a lot with it out isn't good from what I have heard. I would also change the fluid and look for a really thick goop. That could be a sign the VC is leaking. I had this happen to me, I ended up doing a new...

Where can I get a repl. pitman arm? PST only has idler arms

You can get Moog parts from Summit or Rockauto.com. CarQuest also sells Moog parts re-packaged as CarQuest units. CarQuest is normally more expensive from what I have seen.

Is a turbo housing gasket necessary?

I don't believe that gasket is needed. My stock turbo did not have one when it was removed and I don't have one currently.

    Air To Air

I believe only a garrett style turbo can be re-clocked. Basically, it involves loosening the 5-6 bolts on the back of the compressor housing and spinning the turbo outlet pipe to another position other than straight up (stock). I would guess this would give the KB air2air set-up a better and...

    Air To Air

Thanks Mike. I will give it a try. I will certainly look into re-clocking the compressor housing after awhile (I do have a garrett). I just need to get it on and working right before I do that. I appreciate the help. :D

    Air To Air

Mike......what are your general thoughts on the KB air2air set-up??? Is it decent...good...bad??? I do like it because it is not front mount. I am probably going to get the KB unit here very soon. I already have the exhaust side of my turbo ceramic coated so that should help some as far as the...

POLL: Who's had luck with the NGK plugs and who hasnt notice

I have installed the UR5s (0.34 gap) just last weekend and like them. My truck has always idle'd well, but it seemed to help. As prior posts state the truck does seem a little more perky in low RPM and boost is still soild at 17 PSI with a TE-44. I'll stick with the UR5s and might try the UR6...

    Air To Air

Thanks for the info, it sound like they arer fairly equal. Sounds like your water to air is more set-up than mine, I have the stock upper res. with a shur-flo and re-routed lines. My MATs are really good in the winter given the cold temps, but in summer they go way high. The air2air is much...

    Air To Air

So, from what I am reading the air2air is not much better than a stock water2air system that is working properly? It does have obvious advantages as far as cleaning up the engine area and as far as simplicity goes. The KB unit would be my choice as I just like the stock location aspect of it...

    Props to Kenne Bell...............

I know all the abuse they normally take, but I must say they did well this time. I blew up a converter from them after like 3 months in the truck. So, I called and spoke with Jim and he said to send it back and he would take a look at it. Well I called them Today and to my surprise, I have a...

Any ballpark figure on the price for Al's air2air unit??? I think KB still wants 1200.00 for theirs.

    Slow inside tire wear????

The Dealership I go to doesn't have a liftime alignment offer??? It's 59.99 each time. Should they be offering one?? Or are you talking about a tire chain store or something???

    Slow inside tire wear????

Well I was searching and found a post by Jas. It says to get the front end off the ground. Take each front tire and try to shake it at both 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock and then again at the 9 and 3 positions. The 12 and 6 position would show ball joint wear if there is movement and the 9 and 3...

What should you expect from a PTE 44 and stock stall?

I would say you need some back pressure to spool up faster. The lag will definitely be noticeable on the street. A stock set-up feels very responsive from a slow roll (up to maybe 25-30 MPH) if you were to go to the floor with it. A larger turbo will not be this way, very slow for boost to come...

What should you expect from a PTE 44 and stock stall?

I have a Chan built TE-44. At first I had the Kenne Bell 11" converter and it was actually pretty good, far better than I would have expected. My brother has a 93 Ty as well with the same converter and had the TD06 20g with a 14 cm exhaust and had far more lag than I did. Mine actually seemed...
