    Holley HP install and tips

Re: Holley HP install and tips Well, 18 counting the one that came through today (albeit, just for the ECU, main harness, and inj harness). What have I sold the most of? Meaning of ANYTHING? Looking at my sales since 1999 (when I first started selling to the SyTy community), my top 3 are: #1...

    Holley HP install and tips

Re: Holley HP install and tips Amen. I had a sit down with the guys at Holley last week concerning some new products (some for our market, some not) and Rick asked me if there would be any great demand for a specific SyTy harness. I told him not likely as each does it their own way (as...

    valve stem seals

Re: valve stem seals And you're not the first....there are dozens of threads on the forums of S10s, K5s, 3rd Gens, Full Size trucks, etc.... outlining this exact thing (fitting pos type seals onto shedder type heads). My point is, measure your bosses and order accordingly. Stem...

    valve stem seals

Re: valve stem seals My reply was in reference to the use of Vitons for I/E. As far as fitment, measure your valve guide bosses. You can't force a .530 seal over a .562 boss. That's why they sell VG cutters. Here.....educate yourself - http://www.alexsparts.com/valve-seals-11-32-positive-type/

    Exhaust Manifold Gasket Recomendation

Re: Exhaust Manifold Gasket Recomendation Correct. I use nothing on mine....no gasket, no RTV, nothing. I straight edge the manifolds to check for warp, clean any debris or carbon lip with a Roloc disc (07480) and slap em on. If it's a full rebuild and the heads/block are getting surfaced, I'll...

    Exhaust Manifold Gasket Recomendation

Re: Exhaust Manifold Gasket Recomendation None that I can see. Peace of mind knowing that it is sealing is no consolation for the risk of developing a leak. Stock doesn't leak, so why introduce something that might.

    Exhaust Manifold Gasket Recomendation

Re: Exhaust Manifold Gasket Recomendation None are required. If you really want to use some though, use the FelPro drop in ones. That way if they go out, you can loosen the manifold a 1/2" and lift the old ones out and drop new ones in. FelPro MS9275B - Every parts store has em by the dozen.

    Oil cooler removal

Re: Oil cooler removal To me, there is a big difference in "unneeded" and "added to be added". Anatomical vestigial structures are often "unneeded" but I don't think the good Lord "added them to be added". Conversely, for 99% of the drivers, a rear spoiler on a car is "added to be added". I...

    Oil cooler removal

Re: Oil cooler removal You act as if there isn't anything else on the trucks that "wasn't needed". GM wasn't a high end, specialty manufacturer who could afford to nitpick over every aspect of a potential model. Sometimes the answer is far simpler than that.....why not? It was SOE on base...

    Chip modules

Re: Chip modules That's up to you. If you're happy with the way it runs and have no desire to modify it....sure, leave it alone. I personally would want to know what the hell was in my truck. I feel certain that there is another memcal (stock or otherwise) docked into the Ultimate carrier in...

    Chip modules

Re: Chip modules 2 things are required for an Ultimate chip to work: 1) - You must have the stock (or similar) memcal piggybacked into the Ultimate carrier. The Ultimate contains the binary code for the engine but does not contain the ESC circuitry, so it "borrows" that from the piggybacked...

    Chip modules

Re: Chip modules Yes, I can test them and reprogram them to your liking. If you want to program them to the latest GM bin (BBZB), then it's $20 (+S&H) each to test and burn. If you want a custom reprogram or upgraded burn, then it's $50 (+S&H) each to test and burn. PM me for more information...
