ok if you had the choice between a :

low mileage 03-04 cobra with maybee some left over money to buy an aftermarket supercharger and some supporting mods.

or a $10,000-12,000 dollar 92 typhoon and send it to our friends over at RPM(sytyperformance) and give them lets say... 20 grand and say "go crazy and build me a bad ass streetable maybee tt typhoon with a good suspension and keep it AWD.

what would you do?

oh yeah im a mustang fan. but have been a syty fan longer.

oh... lets just call this a hypothetical question for now. ;)

There two different types of speed in my opinion and putting a cobra with maybe a kb blower upgrade against a nice ty with 20k invested in the motor doesn't seem fair... one thing that sticks out to me though is that the cobra would be more reliable :)

streetable is the key, make sure they overbuild. Some super heavy duty drivlines would be in order. For sure forged, cryo'd, and ceramic coated everything under the hood. Since u live in AZ a convertable cobra would be nice, and you definately dont NEED the AWD like I do. I must say that a sick AWD launch at a stop light while the person next to you is spinning will totally make someone question their shit, and make u grin ear to ear.

i have a 04.5 vw GLI (dd), 2008 esclade esv and a 2007 civic si (company cars.)

my hypothetical vehicle will be a weekend warrior and a night cruiser.

i will probly sell the vw.

You may want to find out what 20k can/will get you espically if some one else works on your truck. Ask Mike @RPM, See what kind of package he can set you up with for 20k. 20k may not get you as far as you want to go, then again maybe it will. Working on your own truck will get you more goodies/parts.

Besides the heavy clutch that car is a monster bang for the buck ride.

20k Should get you double or triple if you do the work yourself. You could probably blow 20k easily at RPM just in parts and kits. But Ild go with the TY.20k should clean up just about any street able Cobra if its done right.

Typhoon for my vote, cobras are everywhere. Build a Ty and then go kill some cobras.

I parial to SyTy, but you might be better off monitary wise if you buy a Cobra and just do simple bolts (pulley and few other simple revisible mods), rather than 20K into a Typhoon that would will never get your money back. If you start modifying the Cobra with bigger Supercharger, you will also start blowing up parts on that and ruin its value as well. So going off that I would buy Typhoon.

That's easy. Typhoon any day. Of course, I'm a Mustang hater. :lol:

But if I had money to blow, I'd take mine to Campbell Auto. I think those Canadian turbo motors are impressive eh. :tup: :lol:

Apples and oranges. I LOVED my Typhoon. Drove it for 9 years and had it not recently been stolen, I would have driven it until the wheels fell off. I hope to get another, one of these days. But . . . I also presently own 3 2003 Cobras and 1 2004. 2 coupes and 2 verts. 2 are bone stock, one has a pulley, exhaust and a tune. Did 448 at the rear. One car has a whipple and the usual bolt on upgrades. The guy I bought it from claimed 525 at the rear. It is only pullied for 14 psi. A friend has this setup with different pullies and is making over 650 with his, and has run a best of a 10.56 @ 132 at our track which is a mile high. . Another friend recently installed a Hellion TT kit on his otherwise bone stock '03. It did 878 rwhp. I believe he spent around $6000 to do this. It is insane fast. I don't know where I am going with this post, but I think what I am trying to say is that the terminator cobras (03-04) respond really well to simple mods, and the best part is that they remain very streetable and reliable. Also, since they only made a tick of over 19,000 of these in 2 years, there really aren't very many of them out there, and furthermore, I will bet that a 1/3 have already been destroyed.
Bottom line is buy/build whichever one floats your boat. I love them both. How can you go wrong with either one? :)

for the money and reliablilty your best nag for the buck is the cobra...and as stated above hellion here in abq new mexico will point you in the right direction with mods and what not...ive raced stock cobras and whooped no problem with the sy...but those hellion cars of kb blowers cars are beasts go with a cobra
