Re: 1992 Typhoon 0546 rebuild

Wow awesome thread nice to see all the work done on the truck!

Thanks Adam - it's comments like yours that give me motivation when I get lazy.

What does this mean if you don't mind me asking?

PM sent.

Definitely having the vehicle where you live makes a big difference. When I first moved out, I had an apartment that was 15 minute from my parent house where I garaged my Corvette, I accomplished very little on working on it and I didn't even drive it that often either, that 30 minutes to and from just was a barrier.

I can't tell you what a difference it makes! It's weird to see it every day. Now I just need a proper garage!

Come on Mark, no heat, no fridge....no microwave? What kind of working conditions are these?

The UK is a disaster for this sort of activity. I'm working on it! Looking to build my own extra large garage!

Glad to see you workin on it again Mark!

Thanks Sean - been following your progress and am very interested to know about how you find the Holley compare to C59. I would like to get mine running well so may be in touch to get some tips/advice!

Better get that thing ready for our grudge match! Can't believe the last post before your update yesterday was from me before I got to England on my 2 year tour, and I've been gone nearly a year!

That will be a special day. I'm going to make you a billet camera holder so you can film me leaving you behind.

I know. :(

Quit complaining. We had your typhoon trans out in a few hours! Right around the same time your broke my typhoon door handle. We should probably keep you away from it. Lol

Probably! :D

Mark, what went wrong with the transmission? What happened?

Re: 1992 Typhoon 0546 rebuild

Slowly making progress. Cleaned all the plugs today and it started and ran well. With the O2 connected, it goes richer and richer then dies so I disconnected it. It ran for 10-15 min before it ran out of fuel!

Other thing was making sure TP RT works on my Win 10 laptop which it did. I messed around with making a new gauge display. Talk about user unfriendly!!

But, truck runs and I can log it. Which means I can tune it a bit more. Once it runs properly, i can diagnose the transmission. I am so rusty. It's been years since I messed around with it. But, some progress at least.

It works!!!! Rebuilt trans is in, truck drove last week. I'm going to try and get it inspected in the next week or two. I'll post up later about the trans issue. I am so annoyed but I have to tell you all. FML.
