i saw the space right away...and thought it was damn funny. T-bone...in my opinion the only people you should be mad at is anyone blasting away at you as if you were going to part the ppg out.
It was a pretty well played out prank...and anyone that posted in the thread in outrage/disbelief that someone was going to part out the truck....if they can't laugh that it was a joke...then they need to just step back and look at the big picture here. It was a joke. I just reread it and there is nothing mean spirited in what was said as "t -bone". It's not an abuse of power. And the person suggesting he sues...wtf. Sue for what? What a waste of time/effort that would be. Who would you sue? :lol:
As far as leaving the site due to immature people....c'mon. A lot of people come here as an escape from the reality of their monotonous jobs, frustrating personal issues, sheer boredom...and a lot of them enjoy having a place as a release. If we can't have fun as a group once in a while, then whats it all going to turn into? People poke back and forth. T-bone...you have to admit you had some fun when you and Jeremy were going back and forth talking about racing trucks/bikes/cars at the track/dragon. Other people could look at that as the same sort of childish immature behavior. Most people got a kick out of it....as i believe most people should get a kick out of the ppg thread.
The only failed humor thread that i can remember at this point is when a thread was started saying another board member was in a bad accident hanging onto life in the hospital. His mother was called and experience some massive panicking thinking her son was in the hospital. That one didn't go quite as planned...but was also roughly 8 yrs ago.
I think a lot of people are overgeneralizing/stereotyping that there are way too many immature people around here. Offtopic has barely any posts anymore compared to years ago. There are way more real discussions and tech talk now than there has ever been...which is impressive to me since its not like there are more trucks showing up, or newer trucks. We're still all just coming up with new things to do to our trucks, some 17 yrs later. That's impressive.

No, no-one should sue... but I think this is similar to bullying that goes on in schools. I would hope that we're all mature enough to leave that kind of stuff behind... I like humor, but not at someone else's expense... this also worries me a bit that what a lot of us might say in our PM's to other members may be read and re-distributed behind the scenes.... don't know, I get kind of a bad feeling about it.

Why should the people that were upset about parting the PPG out be made out as bastards? That's ****ing retarded. Is it your job to tell everyone how they should feel about something? If you are going to play a joke like that, and since you have been around SO long, you should have known how some would have taken that and been well prepared for that type of reaction. I personally don't think that was the funniest of jokes but am glad as hell it was. I think someone was just having some fun and it may or may have not gone a bit far. I stand behind Renzy and his post. This group has had its fair share of pranks and im sure this wont be the last we see of one...the BG lives prank I think still stands at #1.

This happens alot on need2speed,ive seen guys post stuff about being gay and saying they are selling the ford to buy whatever and all it was is they never signed out and someone wrote it up while at the house or work...
On my forum we have a trash talk area and nothing is believed to be real in there and its all in fun,admins and mods alter peoples post to say stupid things and its all in fun,but I can understand that people dont all think the same and some get more mad than others...
It dont bother me if someone jokes on me or my car or even my stripper wife,bullying is different,bullying is a guy stepping in on every post to give you :tdown: and saying " you obviously dont know how to read" or something like that...People pick on me all the time on my own forum and in person and im not a little guy,its done in fun...im 260+ trained in mma,benching 455,6'2 and my good friend Mike is 150 5'6 and jokes on me all the time at my exspense:tup:
Like I said before, just post up who did it and appologize or do it threw a pm and work it out there,its really not a big deal and not worth leaving the forum,I couldnt find another one that had the info this one does..

Trust me, I do my own thing on here. But Renz seems to have the ability to break down a problem sensibly without the need of going off the handle and have it all make sense with reason. Its hard for me not to agree with him when he does posts like that. Not that im easily swayed....but renzy could probably sell me his shirt off his back with good reason.

Jeff has the right idea, this is a hobby to most of us, I have learned a lot about these trucks since joining. I don't join in the poking fun because i don't know anybody personaly, but I do get a chuckle out of it occasionaly!!
