after my period of 3 years owning 2 Ty''s and after 3 engines, and prolly 500 miles on both.

Friday i finally became the flexplates bolts, so i really hope that tomorrow i can have her fired up for the 4th time.

altough i''am little bit concerned that new things will happen with this new one, and than i will prolly stop screwing around with V6''s.

current build;
vortecs
412 cam
1.6 ratio rockers
srp pistons
5.7 eagle h beam rods
RPM A2A
tcs 3k stall billet TC
JW build trans
PT61 turbo kit
Razors alky.

but what should happen?

weren't you spinning rod bearings on your last few attempts? i voted number three....just make sure everything is perfect....plastigage the rods and mains if you still can....although I haven't spun any bearings yet, i've pulled my sy motor a couple of times at any sign that something wasn't right such as oil pressure and leaky head studs....don't give up, it's just the nature of the game....did you fourbolt this block? you don't really need to, just curious....i used an uncut crank thinking it would be "true" with a good polish and no machining....not true....after plastigaging, i found out it was way off...one main journal was too tight and three were too loose...so i pulled the motor, tore it apart and had it cut .010 over... as per someone's recommendation I asked them to measure everything in .xxxx (10 thousandths) and write their measurements on the parts to further insure nothing was off...no problems thus far... remember, your syty is a "murphy's law" poster child....if everything isn't right , something will fail....

actually, the first time i dropped in a engine from a guy from berlin (300miles) (from the guy with the twin turbo Sy) and spun a main.(non syty block either)

second time was low oil pressure at idle cause of a missing plug (not my fault).

this is the same build AS the second, but fully rebuilded, cause all the bearings were shot.

yes it's a 4 bolt block.

thanks for having faith in 3th build man.
i'll let you know

you'll be fine.....didn't someone say bad luck comes in three's? get out there and hammer on it.....put a thousand miles on it, then you know your good....i readjusted my lifters after about 300 miles and it ran much better (smoother) and it quieted down the chatter as well......

Re: after having bad luck 3 times, should i?

i have to update this, it runs.

Replaced my lifters, thought 1 was bad cause of the shattering valvetrain noise at the passengerside.

wasn't a broken valve lifter.
seems to get better every day.

my alternator was going bad, rebuilded it, and it seems like my false knock i had just cured itselve.

put in a BOV.
added a switch so i can switch from tranny temp to engine oil temp.

and it's fast.

still on 20W50, changed oil 3 times (300 miles)

I am confused. Are you using used engines in this, or are these new engines that are not lasting past initial breakin?

Seems to me, a spun bearing that soon would be oil pressure issue, or sizing of crank.

Seems odd, are the engine builders in your area not familiar with v6 machining techniques?

The engine was bought new...very new from a builder in the states. Warranty issue arose...engine was shipped back to said builder...builder said he fixed it...and now that it has been shipped from NL to states and back to NL to the tune of $3,000 (Not including initial engine cost and initial shipping) it's being pulled again.

Rene is a man of simple pleasures...not much that's complicated about his life. He lives in a town that's 2 city blocks wide, and 5 miles long. Nestled in between huge tracts of farm land. Beautifull country. He works on tractors for a living...his dad grows spargel... (white asparagus)...I have a blast every time I drive the 4hrs to go visit. Life is soo much simpler up there. A shame to see this happen.

ohwm yeah... first engine began to smoke after 150 miles driving back

second engine, bought from berlin and spun a main after 50 miles.... wrong engine annyway (dealer ship replaced, and guy bought Sy from dealer and put the V8 twin turbo in there).

third engine, Brand new spanking engine, missing plug warrenty etc...

now this..........................

no i cant make it to jimmys . yes it was a new build. my problem was when i first started it i had a problem with my romulator and it went into fail safe and was dumping fuel and it wased down the cylenders and wrecked the rings . then i was using oil and it god really dirty fast so there was alot of blowby and it wrecked the oil fast . so with me beating the living shit out of it any chance i could i spun a bearing . but the motor is out and at the machine shop aready getting a clean up and hone .so i will be back up soon . with a lot of new goodys
