Al Dustan/DPT-who's been screwed?

Short story goes, I was a DPT customer that got worked over very hard. I had contracted him to build a chassis for me which has not been completed in nearly 2 and a half years, and at this point the project is completely dead. I also, regretfully, had him setup my motor build with a reputable local builder and paid for a splayed 4 bolt main conversion as part of that... I just pulled the oil pan off the other day, and what do you know, two bolt mains, so now the motor has to get ripped apart and 4 bolted, ugh.

So heres the deal, at this point I am trying to track down anybody who has been screwed over, ripped off or otherwise jacked by Al Dustan/Dustan Performance Technologies. This is a serious matter and I am not looking to waste time with a flame war, but I am however trying to find some justice for at least myself. And I thought in the process of doing this I may be able to bring some closure to this for a few other people as well.

Was that the funky looking tube chassis shown in the DPT photos on Sportmachines? If so, you were screwed the minute he started making it - it was not a proper design, at least ATD when I showed him the pictures. As for the workmanship...

Wow, how much was that if you dont mind me asking, alot of people have been screwded over by al dustan, i am suprised no one has sued him, but i guess he operates under a new name, so maybe he filed bankrupcy with the first bus., sorry about your problems with him, I wish I never dealt with him, especially since the pep front suspension kit is out, I like the fact that it uses the factory ball joints, I dont like my al dustan kit anymore, and the wilwood brakes were such a joke about bolt right up, i had to have new hats made from wilwood and different brackets to make it work, anything i ever got from him was not complete, was always missing something, hell mike lee gave me his bushings for the front suspension so i could finish it, dont understand what happened to that guy, maybe hes got alot of issues.

I must have spent over $100.00 on phone calls back and forth time concerning the whereabouts of my harness bar. When he finally shipped it out it came bent. Even worse the jagged mounting base plates looked like they were cut by a flame torch!

Thank god it was damaged in shipment as I refused it at time of delivery!

i would really rather not talk about how much money i've lost in a public forum, its rather disturbing and not something i feel particulary proud of at this point. lets just say it is a LOT of money, multiple thousands.

as for nobody sueing him yet, rest assured that will not stay that way for much longer. the countdown has begun....

Last year this time he was a friend. I know he browses the board anon since he was banned (for the third time) just wondering how the cards lie a year later.

Oh boy ,I can join THIS party too!

I got his sy fnt. sus. & it was ok & he helped me alot with it over the phone.

Then I was serving as gunie pig for his new fnt. disc brake sys for gen 3 S's
I payed him $700 for it & it didn't fit so he had me ship it back to him for fixing & after that all I got was BS storys & phone bills. All I have left is 2 Wilwood calipers & 2 SS lines.

I spoke with Presision Brakes & they said the calipers Al supplyed are to small for a S truck anyways.

We need a lawer for a class action sutie.

Ran across this on the Subaru boards.
Looks like he is into WRXs now.
Shut down the old business and operatinig under a new one.

I didnt get ripped off per say, I just had to wait an ungodly amount of time for my parts.
I can also attest to the poor communication and empty promises.

Surely there are some guys that never got the rest of their kits.
I heard some were filing grievances with their credit card companies, but there is a time limit also that made it difficult.

Jimmy, Al is a bad ass. He is a skilled fighter. Just ask him. He will tell you at length how tough he is.

Al, if you read this why have you not sent my pre-paid parts to me or at least returned any email or phone calls. Actually I would like my money back instead of the parts.
