Can't really tell in this picture, but the intercooler has pulled away from the "boot" and the upper intake...

Also, PRETTY PISSED OFF AT METRO PD RIGHT NOW, as it appears there is NO EVIDENCE that this thing was even finger printed.[/QUOTE]

Probably a good thing the "boot" popped off. They floored/boosted it, and when it separated, they heard a loud pop. Must have thought it was the engine and bailed. Cuz obviously it wouldn't perform like it did without :turbo: Whoever it was obviously is a hack!

Okay, it's out of impound and in the bay.
VISUAL UPDATE. In no particular order...

- The IC/Boot/Upper Intake...It appears they were attempting to steal the entire induction system. There are bolts that were removed, shit moved around, etc. It's burnt up one of the plug wires as well. They also ripped out the new goddamned oil dipstick tube. Fortunately, they left it laying on top of the motor, but it's going to be a PITA to get it back in.

Anyways, moving on:
- 210 total miles put on it between being stolen and recovered.
- Transmission is ****ed. It's shifting hard through all of the gears and feels nowhere normal.
- Cross-member bar behind the tc has been bent
- 2 Passenger side stock rims have curb rash/scrapping
- The tires themselves look as if someone did a brake stand and wore as much tread off as possible.
- Passenger side window gone
- Passenger side top of window they ****ed up with a screwdriver
- Cladding has various scrapes. Various paint nicks (including the grille which was repainted this winter). Luckily, NO cladding is missing or seriously damaged.
- The alignment is completely off
- May have frame damages. Following measurements from ground to bottom of cladding going thru the center of the wheel:
Front Drivers: 28 1/4"
Front Pass: 27 1/8"
Rear Drivers: 30 1/2"
Rear Pass: 29 3/4"
Both foglights busted
- Passenger seat is broken.
- Glovebox door is gone.
- Dash above the glovebox is ****ed up from using a screw driver to pop it open since it was locked.
- Stereo is gone.
- Passenger interior door panel looks like they tried to rip off.
- Dome light missing
- Rear ash tray on drivers side is missing.
- Air tube is cracked in 2 spots

There is also a "popping when turning". Haven't investigated that yet, as letting insurance adjusters do their thing first.

Some of the things may be petty, such as the dome light and the rear ashtray, however, if this truck is repaired, I want it back to the way it was prior to being stolen and beaten.

There's also some grass/weeds stuck in the undercarriage, so it's been off-road, but who knows to what extent.

Compression and leak down tests will be done soon and the turbo inspected as well.

I may be missing something here and there, so will update if more comes up.

Oh, and still trolling the local forums to see if anyone raced a white/grey GMC this weekend. I'm curious as to how well she performed. :D

Yes sir. Interesting enough. One of those brackets is now in the glovebox? I am guessing they were able to get it off and when they ditched the truck or got spooked or whatever, it fell on the ground or something of that nature. And then the tow driver threw it in there when he picked it up.

They printed the Land Cruiser that was used to smash down the gate. It's not that they don't care about auto theft...They don't give a **** period. METRO Nashville has some of the LAZIEST cops in the country.

man that is my worst fear. If the tranny cross member is bent, that sucks. I dont know man, let us know what they want to give, and sum it up from there. There are A LOT of nice trucks out there for 8 to 10k now...

I asked him the same question when he showed me the pics.

I do now to. They are wrapped in bubble wrap sitting on my kitchen counter. I just have to get SOMEONE to show me where the stupid things go and hope they fit with this big hair drier I have.....

With the "popping when turning" sound, the grass, bent crossmember- I would guess they were doing donuts in a field somewhere. If they were spinning the wheels at a high rate of speed while they were turned sharply- that could kill the CV joints in the front.

I can't find the ****ing pic but I know what they look like,

The crooked one bolts to #6 exhaust manifold bolt and connects to the IC hole closest to the firewall.Bend towards the front. The Z shaped bracket goes in the middle. The straight one bolts to #2 manifold towards the front of IC.

Somebody post the stupid pic. It's in the CD-ROM.

Hmmmm. Those may be interesting to put on. I don't know if the bolts for the headers are long enough to also have brackets attached to them. I guess I can try and see what happens. If I can get two of the three it will be better than what I don't have now.

Re: ALERT: 92 GMC Typhoon #1377 Stolen - nashville tn

I love how my phone alerts me of voicemails. I could have posted last week if it worked correctly.

Spoke with the insurance adjuster just a bit ago. They have an estimate for "physical damage". Should be coming to me shortly broken down and detailed.

They're at $3153.05 right now for physical damage.
4 wheel align
Repair steering columb
Right Fender
Radio
Window
Blah blah blah blah blah.

Once I have the detailed list I will post it here to get ya'lls thoughts.

They are going to send me the paperwork for supplemental on the drivetrain. Still waiting to get oil samples back and need someone more familiar with these trucks to see this thing and let me know what exactly is wrong with it.

She's finally back home as of Saturday and she says she feels safe again. Replaced the foglights and glovebox door yesterday and gave her a good washing. Gonna wax her up tomorrow while I am off work.

At least the 1st insurance check will be here within a few days and I can pay for some of these parts I have already accumulated. :)

if i was in your shoes i would hold off buying and installing parts til all is said and done with the insurance company and everyone is happy with what will be covered and what wont and everyone agreed on the total payout amount. would suck to recieve, cash and spend part of the first payment they send you only to find out once the driveline damadge estimate is recieved they decide to total the truck. i trust insurance companies about as much as i trust my ex-wifes divorce lawyer.
