Re: ALERT: 92 GMC Typhoon #1377 Stolen - nashville tn
Okay, it's out of impound and in the bay.
VISUAL UPDATE. In no particular order...
- The IC/Boot/Upper Intake...It appears they were attempting to steal the entire induction system. There are bolts that were removed, shit moved around, etc. It's burnt up one of the plug wires as well. They also ripped out the new goddamned oil dipstick tube. Fortunately, they left it laying on top of the motor, but it's going to be a PITA to get it back in.
Anyways, moving on:
- 210 total miles put on it between being stolen and recovered.
- Transmission is ****ed. It's shifting hard through all of the gears and feels nowhere normal.
- Cross-member bar behind the tc has been bent
- 2 Passenger side stock rims have curb rash/scrapping
- The tires themselves look as if someone did a brake stand and wore as much tread off as possible.
- Passenger side window gone
- Passenger side top of window they ****ed up with a screwdriver
- Cladding has various scrapes. Various paint nicks (including the grille which was repainted this winter). Luckily, NO cladding is missing or seriously damaged.
- The alignment is completely off
- May have frame damages. Following measurements from ground to bottom of cladding going thru the center of the wheel:
Front Drivers: 28 1/4"
Front Pass: 27 1/8"
Rear Drivers: 30 1/2"
Rear Pass: 29 3/4"
Both foglights busted
- Passenger seat is broken.
- Glovebox door is gone.
- Dash above the glovebox is ****ed up from using a screw driver to pop it open since it was locked.
- Stereo is gone.
- Passenger interior door panel looks like they tried to rip off.
- Dome light missing
- Rear ash tray on drivers side is missing.
- Air tube is cracked in 2 spots
There is also a "popping when turning". Haven't investigated that yet, as letting insurance adjusters do their thing first.
Some of the things may be petty, such as the dome light and the rear ashtray, however, if this truck is repaired, I want it back to the way it was prior to being stolen and beaten.
There's also some grass/weeds stuck in the undercarriage, so it's been off-road, but who knows to what extent.
Compression and leak down tests will be done soon and the turbo inspected as well.
I may be missing something here and there, so will update if more comes up.
