I would like to know how its not worth 4000
Because I said so thats why. Maybe someone else with no idea what kind of work it would take to fix it would pay 7 grand but not this guy nor anyone else I know.
Tryin to sell both typhoons for 6500 is a pretty good deal to me. I mean u get 2 typhoons that comes with alot of parts to build one and to have axtra stuff left over.
If all of the labor had to be paid for rather than a DIY job then you would have 10 grand in it (not counting the purchase price) for a salvage title vehicle. Good luck ever getting even half your money back if you decide to sell it.
We built a 1991 Syclone before that was an engine fire and I know between the dash, dash wiring, engine wiring, hood, radiator, 2 cladding peices, and a few other peices we had around 3500.00 in parts.
The guage cluster, cluster surround, wiring, and cladding are syty specific...any sheet metal or cooling is just a regular S10 so maybe you paid way too much for the syty stuff. An engine fire rebuild is WAY WAY cheaper to do than fix a rust bucket....how do I know?...BTD twice on fire rebuilds and Ive fixed way more rust than I care to remember. none the less $3500 investment to
FIX a syty isnt bad since unless you paid too much for it to begin with you might just break even on resale. Fixing the red ty is gonna cost you double (or more) that in just labor.
Unless there is someone out there reproducing these parts just like GM did then u can say Im nuts but being they aint and all these parts are GM parts. I would have to say were not asking for an arm and a leg. But then there are people out there who thinks parts should be for free.
GM isnt making many (if any) syt parts but then again if the parts are beat to hell then it really doesnt make a difference if theyre GM, import junk, or stamped out by a cannabalistic tribe from the congo. If you want more than a couple grand for the red ty then if I were you Id sell it off down to every last nut and bolt otherwise it'll never happen unless some idiot with more cash than brains comes along.
Also I hate to break the news to some of u but I bet about 75% of the syclones and typhoons are rusting like crazy under there cladding.
You yankees and your rust issues just kill me.... I hate to break it to you but you'll be lucky to find a spec of rust on my truck and it spent a lot of time in Alaska then DC then I bought it and its been here in VA ever since. Did I paint it? Nope. Was it stored in a garage and not driven during the winter before I got it? Nope. However, it was washed more than once a month by the previous owners in the winter and they were obviously well aware that you have to wash the
under side as well as the shiney side to keep it from rusting. Ive seen ppl keep the shiney side spotless but WTF good does it do since very seldom is the shiney side the start of any rust issues....then again I prolly wouldnt wash under the truck or under the hood if all I had to do was drive it and pay someone else to work on it...let them worry about the under side  .
Something is only worth what someone else will pay for it so put whatever price you want on it but expect other ppl who KNOW what its worth to give you crap about it. If it was me Id jump all over the offer of $4k and walk away counting my cash smiling since I just sold someone something for twice the price of what its worth.
