Anyone find out how much it would take to buy these two trucks?

Just curious if anyone has any idea what it'd take to buy these two parts trucks.

The red one is beat to hell but has potential (definately a body swap project) and the white "parts truck" has seen better days but if a person could get them cheap enough then add a ton of work you could take two and make one. Im thinking these two will get parted since the reserve wasnt met at ~2k just for the red one and IMO theyll be lucky to get 2k for BOTH of them.

I had bid on the red one about a week ago. The reserve was not met as he didnt have it posted. I emailed the seller and asked him what it was and he wrote back saying 4k. I personally didnt think it was worth it so I stopped bidding.

Damn...4k!? I bid on it the last time it was up but I just watched it this time. I had some cashola saved up for a new turbo but I always wanted a red ty so I made a stab at buying it last time. Once it got past what I was willing to spend I bailed but I never thought anyone would want 4k for it...yeeesh. There might be 4k worth of parts there if every single piece down to the nuts and bolts were sold off individually...or that guy that bought all the syty stuff up on ebay a while back was still around  .

No big deal for me since I decided to buy the turbo instead and a turbo doesnt involve me sanding bondo and doing body work for the next 2 or 3 years  .

Aside from the location of the rust and the big dent it's no worse than my truck was  Ever seen what my manifold looked like?

I wish he would part it... I need a console plate for the GT and that one doesn't look healthy

Both quarters rotted, both fenders rotted, rust hole over the rear window, steel s10 bumper, holes in the firewall on both sides, soft spots on the tailgate, rust in the roof seems, both front body mounts completely gone (drivers you could stick your hand through the floor and touch the ground), both doors were shot also.
You can see some of it here , but a fair amout didn't show up until we started stripping parts and checking the bubbles

I'd emailed w/ that junkyard owner a couple times at the end of October (when customrestore bid it up real high). He had offered me both trucks for $7k. I can only imagine that he'd sell them a little cheaper now that he still has them.

I want to know where he is getting his drugs from. Apparently he has a line on some *really* good stuff that can't be had on the street asking those kind of prices... I guess that it's to be expected in the wake of the mad ebayer's buying binge that drove the prices of items sky high. Many seized the moment and sold items/trucks for amounts that they could only have dreamed of getting beforehand. Things should get back to normal now that the cash cow's tit has gone dry. Bottom line is something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Sounds like someone has seen to many Barrett Jackson auctions .

I would walk across the street to get the red truck for free.

Honestly,this retard might have 4k worth of 2 trucks,maybe

**** it,just let them rot back into the ground.

Makes ours worth more. ;)

For 7 large there better be 3 or 4 more trucks other than the two mentioned in the auction that are included in the deal.

I would like to know how its not worth 4000 and to the person saying I said 7000 for both ur wrong. I believe I said somewhere around 5500 or 6000. yes the body is shot but there is alot of parts left on that typhoon that u cant get anymore. We had the typhoon sold for 4000 but the buyer got into legal problems. Tryin to sell both typhoons for 6500 is a pretty good deal to me. I mean u get 2 typhoons that comes with alot of parts to build one and to have axtra stuff left over. We built a 1991 Syclone before that was an engine fire and I know between the dash, dash wiring, engine wiring, hood, radiator, 2 cladding peices, and a few other peices we had around 3500.00 in parts. Unless there is someone out there reproducing these parts just like GM did then u can say Im nuts but being they aint and all these parts are GM parts. I would have to say were not asking for an arm and a leg. But then there are people out there who thinks parts should be for free. Also I hate to break the news to some of u but I bet about 75% of the syclones and typhoons are rusting like crazy under there cladding.

We all know about the rust. Most owners have addressed it. My truck needed every piece of sheetmetal that had cladding on it replaced, and then some.
As for 4000 for that truck? the market has pretty much gone dry right now, I've seen clean original trucks under 100k miles go for 5k - 7k in the past 6 months. if I can get a whole truck for 5k I don't know why I'd pay 4k for a chassis and a motor :dunno:

well according to your email via ebay on 10/27/2006

jjsusedparts is the seller.
hows 7000.00 for both sound

i replied with
Thanks for responding. $7000 is a bit high since they are hit pretty hard and the body's are rough. I noticed now that the red one is up to $4k so you're obviously better off selling that one. As for the white one...could i just come and buy some parts that i want?

do you have more typhoons on your lot?

to which you said
just tell me what all u need and I will check and see what I have. I know that price sounds high but u cant get this stuff anymore and I know if I sold this stuff idividually I would make alot more then taht. But its time comsuming and I aint out to make a killing Im just out to get a few bucks more then what I paid and move on.

So no, i'm not wrong  But i'd still be interested in picking them up from you for a much smaller price than $7k. Also my offer still stands to come out and take parts from them and pay you by the part.

4k tops for both, the body on the red one is Junk, the white truck needs a frame and all the front sheetmetal, not to mention Id be willing to bet that the frame damaged the floor pans, yes you could take the body from the white one and put it on the red trucks chassis but I think there is a term for that, oh wait felony thats the word im looking for , VIN fraud is a felony in every state

Because I said so thats why. Maybe someone else with no idea what kind of work it would take to fix it would pay 7 grand but not this guy nor anyone else I know.

Tryin to sell both typhoons for 6500 is a pretty good deal to me. I mean u get 2 typhoons that comes with alot of parts to build one and to have axtra stuff left over.
If all of the labor had to be paid for rather than a DIY job then you would have 10 grand in it (not counting the purchase price) for a salvage title vehicle. Good luck ever getting even half your money back if you decide to sell it.

We built a 1991 Syclone before that was an engine fire and I know between the dash, dash wiring, engine wiring, hood, radiator, 2 cladding peices, and a few other peices we had around 3500.00 in parts.
The guage cluster, cluster surround, wiring, and cladding are syty specific...any sheet metal or cooling is just a regular S10 so maybe you paid way too much for the syty stuff. An engine fire rebuild is WAY WAY cheaper to do than fix a rust bucket....how do I know?...BTD twice on fire rebuilds and Ive fixed way more rust than I care to remember. none the less $3500 investment to FIX a syty isnt bad since unless you paid too much for it to begin with you might just break even on resale. Fixing the red ty is gonna cost you double (or more) that in just labor.

Unless there is someone out there reproducing these parts just like GM did then u can say Im nuts but being they aint and all these parts are GM parts. I would have to say were not asking for an arm and a leg. But then there are people out there who thinks parts should be for free.

GM isnt making many (if any) syt parts but then again if the parts are beat to hell then it really doesnt make a difference if theyre GM, import junk, or stamped out by a cannabalistic tribe from the congo. If you want more than a couple grand for the red ty then if I were you Id sell it off down to every last nut and bolt otherwise it'll never happen unless some idiot with more cash than brains comes along.

Also I hate to break the news to some of u but I bet about 75% of the syclones and typhoons are rusting like crazy under there cladding.

You yankees and your rust issues just kill me.... I hate to break it to you but you'll be lucky to find a spec of rust on my truck and it spent a lot of time in Alaska then DC then I bought it and its been here in VA ever since. Did I paint it? Nope. Was it stored in a garage and not driven during the winter before I got it? Nope. However, it was washed more than once a month by the previous owners in the winter and they were obviously well aware that you have to wash the under side as well as the shiney side to keep it from rusting. Ive seen ppl keep the shiney side spotless but WTF good does it do since very seldom is the shiney side the start of any rust issues....then again I prolly wouldnt wash under the truck or under the hood if all I had to do was drive it and pay someone else to work on it...let them worry about the under side  .

Something is only worth what someone else will pay for it so put whatever price you want on it but expect other ppl who KNOW what its worth to give you crap about it. If it was me Id jump all over the offer of $4k and walk away counting my cash smiling since I just sold someone something for twice the price of what its worth.
