Anyone got a known good typhoon transfer case?

I'm having a lot of trouble finding a known good Typhoon case. I hate to muddy up the lounge, but I think I might die before I find a good one.

Every single junk yard is using some cross reference data and just selling Astro\Bravada ones. And anyone I can find with a case can't confirm whether it's a good case or not since it's been out of the vehicle or they bought the truck junked etc.

Getting desperate!

That's because Astro/Bravada uses the same T-case BW4472

Get one and bolt it in. :2cents:

Different internals, output flange & output shaft :(

Starting to wonder if I should just make a conversion kit.

I have one. I used the imput shaft and planetary for test fitting when I had the 32 spline imput shafts made. I just have to do the torque test on it to make sure the viscous coupler is in good shape.

sounds like they are BW1372 t-cases. They did use the 4472 in those trucks mentioned above, avoid the early years and try sticking with 1993-95 years if you can, odds are better for getting the correct case. When they cross reference it, they should ask if its a 3.5" or a 4.25" output flange.

I did see mentioned in an official rebuild post that they use a different chain too.

For future reference though, the Ty is the 4.25, 32 spline?

Looks like the Brava shares the same chain. So I'm guessing the only true intercharge to the Typhoon case is a 93-95 Bravo with 4.25 flange and 32 spline output?

It's in the way right now so you can have it for 175 plus shipping. It will be cheaper to ship to a business...
