In fact, does that make Frank the fastest SyTy ever to run stock exhaust manifolds??
Yup from now on lane 2. Good advise.ed hess said:frank
lane2 = no cone
the cone is there so that street tires dont rip up the rubber in the groove.

smaug said:seems like with the right setup and the right tuning these trucks can go fast,
doesn't really matter where they are from.
Silly said:Well that can be said about ANY vehicle.
My point is that is helps greatly being at sea level or below sea level. That is why I asked what the DA was, didn't get an answer though.
But at the same time that in no way is meant to take away anything from any of the vehicles running at those levels. Where it does help, it doesn't do it all, the knowledge and the parts and the time must also be there.
To say that the 10.76 ran at or below sea level would run the same here in chicago, or in denver would incorrect. You would see a nice difference, I personally think you would see an 11 second truck.
That sb2 syclone ran what, 9.55 in mile high air but again it seemed that no one took into consideration the altitude. Something that seems to get looked over quite a bit on this board. WHich is surprising considering we all are forced induction.
But when all said and done its not like he ca'nt go around saying he has a 10 second truck, because when the days over that is what it is, a nice, clean, 10 second truck. You race at the track that is most assessable, there is nothing wrong with that.
Tooky said:Chicago (or at least, the "Chicago" dragstrip for 2002 SyTy Nationals, Great Lakes Dragaway in Wisconsin) is only 800 ABSL. You think 800 feet is going to take 4 tenths off Frank's times? (Assuming Atco is at 0 ABSL)
At Kansas City nats, his times were similar to his home times, he already explained that.

smaug said:I dunno, while harry is apparently very good at what he does (and the nj trucks does prove this), NJ has had 3 sub 11second trucks.. tom ferrick, ed hess, and Frank...
meanwhile other areas have gone just as fast, canada, georgia, hoovers, robert, bully, etc..
seems like with the right setup and the right tuning these trucks can go fast, doesn't really matter where they are from.
ViciousV6 said:What the hell "smaug" You leave me out of those names, My truck may run 11.3 @ 118 but that is on 17lbs of boost. Me & Harry are slowly seeing how far this GT35R Turbo will go with this truck hoping to get into the mid 10's once we tune in the Alky or Race Gas. I don't know how many trucks are running straight pump gas, on 9.2-9.8 AFR and going 11.3-11.4 @ the track. Of course i just figured out one problem which could of put me into the 11.2-11.1 bracket the other night but that is too late since i was removed from the track for going to fast without a cage.
Soon it will be a 10 sec truck!
