Leave the stock coil and go buy some GOOD plugs, GOOD wires, and a cap and rotor with BRASS terminals. That's a better way to spend that money and updgrade your ignition.

The CR42TS plugs in WhiteTy have well over 50,000 miles on them. The truck runs so well, I won't touch it for fear of f ucking something up. How can I make an improvement on "perfect" by changing anything?

To the point, CR42TS are the "stock" plug. You infer that anything other than the CR42 would be "GOOD"er. With 50K miles and counting, and it runs perfectly. I disagree. The stock plugs are fine in my truck. From my point of view, there is no improvement possible. 50K and counting.

Yes Dave, CR42TS are "GOOD plugs". They were in Ty#0261 both times it won the stock class. I was infering that A) there's no telling what the last guy put in there, and B) fresh plugs = "GOOD plugs". I guess I should've been more specific before he goes and buys something goofy.

(Dave is busting my balls today. )

I ran a MSD blaster on my 94 dime for about 200k, never had any issues. I just recently replaced it, and that was only because it had 200k on it.

I have heard of a lot of MSD issues though with many of their other products over the years.

While I do agree with Dave, I have had NO issues with NGK UR6 plugs. Won't ignore the quality of the CR42TS plugs, but I (personally) prefer the UR6s.

If all out performance is your goal and you don't plan on racking up the miles daily go MSD.

If reliabilty, daily driving, long haul trips are your goal go stock everything as Dave said.
