Hey guys,
I just installed a 20G as well and am looking at outting a new TC in to help out. Any info appreciated - I'm interested in the new or the used TC as well as any advice on the install/stall settings.
How do you adjust the stall setting or is that just a nature of the TC design?

I think the converter gets activated or engaged due to the pressure/inertia created by the oil being pumped inside the converter while spining, the bigger the diameter the longer (higher revs) its goin to take to fill it locked. Thats why you have stall speeds and diameters, to deduce when the converter is goin to get engaged. Im not an expert but this is basically how i understand it works.
I also have a 20g and just had a 2800rpm 9/11 and trans installed and it does take a lil bit longer to spool than the stocker but the acceleration produced does compensate, i still got all the tunning to do but im sure the spool up time can be shortened.
There is also this trick called "lock up switch" that's pretty cool and can shave up to half a sec sometimes, make a search on it.

if you have a true 20g with 14cm exhaust housing you will need a 2800rpm converter at a min. I offer the TCS billete converters that are as good if not better than anything out there. check my site/section here for pics and more details.

converters work by filling a space on the back side of a piston forceing it to move the clutch on that piston against the cover of the converter thus locking up. the flow of that converter fluid is controlled by the solinoid which can be overidden by the lockup switch or you can continue to let the ecm do it's job.

What do you mean by a true 20g?
I plugged it into the Ty so the exhaust housing is the same. Is that 14cm?
I looked over your sites and couldn't get any links about stall converters.
Here's one for you -
Could you stet it up so that a converter was around 2600 stall for daily driving, but 3000 - 3200 for performance?
