Can someone please post a pic of where the boost control cutout relay is located. I did a search and some say its to the right ic relay but I dont see nothing. I may be looking to hard or not hard enough hahaha. Thanks in advance.

Re: Boost control cutout relay??

Its one of the 2 relays on the firewall near the center of the engine bay .Right near the fuel pressure regulator .

Re: Boost control cutout relay??

Is there a special mod that you are doing with the boost cutoff relay. This is one that I haven't heard of. Thanks.

Re: Boost control cutout relay??

Hey dean no im not doin a mod Im just having some limited boost problems and I was looking at some older threads and along with checking vac, ic connections and wastegate adjustment, someone mentioned checking the cutoff relay to see if its toast. Maybe that could be part of or all of the problem.

I just had to replace that relay on my truck. Was only able to build 10lbs of boost before replacement. The new relay cured the problem.

I don't know if you will ever find one with the correct housing that will attach to the mounting bracket thats on the firewall. But the relay in a different housing is common. Try having your auto parts place cross ref.P/N #25525638. I think that is the correct P/N.

Re: Boost control cutout relay??

I found the updated (#25525638) it is 12088594. That new part # is coming up as being a relay for multiple things. Can someone please verify that it also controls boost cut out. It is located next to IC relay.

Re: Boost control cutout relay??

Ok so I just checked the orange wire and I have power with the key on. I guess wildphil got me excited when he said that replacing the relay fixed his limited boost problem. Cancel that guess!!! Ok so if my waste gate actuator is rusted to shit could that cause limited boost. I'm only seeing about 10 lbs on stock gauge (yes I know there worthless).

Re: Boost control cutout relay??

Ok now I'm getting pist. Replaced the vac lines to cause I had a bad leak coming from the fuel pressure reg. I replaced all the lines that were old and plastic still and in still having limited boost. Wtf. I cant adjust my actuator cause its rusted to shit. I'm gna see if I can go pick up one in better shape from a fellow member. What ive done is cap, rotor, plugs, wires, boost solenoid. I'm getting frustrated. Will the new actuator help if adjusted properly?????

Re: Boost control cutout relay??

Have you taken the actuator rod loose? Then tried to operate the lever that does to the flapper To make sure the flapper is not stuck.

Re: Boost control cutout relay??

It opens. I could reach my hand through the wheel well and open it. I don't know what else to do!! Could it be the up pipe from the turbo. When I tighten the clamp on the ic side it wants to slide off. Its tight but on the bottom side its barley hanging on.

Is air leaking from the pipe? If so then this is a problem.

If you verified to solenoid, relay. vacuum lines are good and connected correctly, the flapper opens and closes. How about a vacuum pump on the actuator to see if vacuum will operate it?
