Customrestore selling all his stuff?

Re: Customrestore selling all his stuff?

T-Bone canceled his travel plans when this was announced. If he ever had any in the first place, which is doubtful.

:haha:

Never made any travel plans, Dave. I knew in advance what I would bid for the PPG Sy but his reserve, which Jimmy disclosed to me a month ago, is WAY over the common sense figure I had in mind and that is the only truck he has that I wanted. I am 99% sure it will still be there after the auction concludes, unless Harmon picks it up ;).

I do find it amusing that amidst car affiacondo's with 7 digit play money budgets at BJ, this truck sold for $60,000 +/- and yet he thinks it is now a gold mine that is worth almost double that amount in less than a year.

I'm still tossing around the idea of heading up there for this, just not sure I'll be able to get away yet. Needless to say, I'm already setup for bidding online, and will be taking part one way or another

Big whoop...MSRP still says it's only worth 60 large...I'd be stoned, stupid, or both to even open with a bid like that...

Re: Customrestore selling all his stuff?

Wasn't there a "discussion" here about Sy #1 and if it had an increased value due to its VIN. First and last do make a difference for bragging rights and value. In the case of the Sy, it's got miles, a collision history and few other issues. It is not in the same catagory as these vehicles but it proves the general theory that the production # can have an influence on the value. A big question here (back on topic) is how does 1 guy end up with #1 for many models. Connections, connections, connections. I'll figure it out with info that is not able to be challenged.

If ANY of those trucks with retarded reserves get an opening bid,I will kiss everybody's ass here,on Main Street.

The other trucks may go for cheap. If I was in the market,I'd be there in a heartbeat.

BTW I lick the PPG.

I think even if I won the powerball, I wouldn't be spending a 100k on a Marl.I like them and wouldn't mind having one, but not for that kind of money.

I think Sir Jimmy hit it on the head with "retarded"...I like GM products, but asking double the price...give me a break! I was born at night, but I wasn't born last night...but, I suppose he'll find someone with the right combo of bankroll and no brain cells to buy it...:2cents:

Re: Customrestore selling all his stuff?

Is Sportsmachines the defining authority/recorder of history when it comes to SyTys? Is that the one that has all the catalog of the owners related to their car numbers(last 4 of VIN?) I wish SyTys had a number on the dash like GNXs. I had read an old article in the NY Times quoting a GM exec that if there had been a second year of Syclones they would have limited it to 500 and they would have had different colors and badges on the dash.:)

What do you think the Marlboro Syclones will go for? Also I am really curious to know what Shaun Palmer's Syclone truck will sell for! The PPG Syclone Pace truck? You can watch the bidding at:

2nd year was scheduled for more production than 91

I hope they sell for big money. I hope all the SyTySoGT's sell for top, hell even high, dollar. Our market could us a little help with the values. If the "rare" trucks can't/don't sell for respectable money then what does that say about the values of "regular" trucks?? Not a lot IMHO.
