Re: Customrestore selling all his stuff?

So Harmon...
What time does your flight land in Reno that day?

Lmao, im planning on going.. I want to see the whole collection. Even if i dont walk away with anything atleast i can say i was with alll those syty's in one place and cr collection.

I live for the experience!!!.....I just keep thinking how awsome it would be to be standing in front of the ppg and 3 marly's...Hell yea!

So, who else is going?....maybe we can make this a mini get together at this auction.

3500 cars? Must be a local gathering. Come up to Minneapolis next weekend. Over 10,000 cars, 1963 and older.

You know, that might not be a bad idea. What are the dates again? (I'm on my BlackBerry and don't wanna scroll back through).
Get a flight that changes planes in Nashville. :)
If we can get a group to go together, that would be pretty cool and I may be down.

Re: Customrestore selling all his stuff?

We all should throw in an equal amount of money, purchase a Marlboro or the PPG. Then have Jeff ship it on a cross-country tour where all of the SyTy owners could sign the bed or something, and then find some place to put it on display.

An official "board truck".

That's the number of official entries. There's thousands more that show up just to be there.

It's Hot August Nights, Norm. Bit more than a 'local gathering'.

Yeah I know what it is. I been there a dozen years ago. Nice show. As of today there's 10655 registered for the 50's. And alot of cars that can't get in because they are to new.

Re: Customrestore selling all his stuff

I know he bought salvage titled and 100k+ mile ones.He also bought the nicest and rarest trucks that money can buy.

FWIW, he was actually considering buying my rusty Ty, but he didn't because my asking price + the amount he would have to spend would be more than it was worth. So it seems like he was interested in fixing them up as well.

I actually like this idea (and proposed something similar in the past). Of course, the contract giving us all equal ownership would be a BEAR to draft.

Register as a company and sell private stock in the company somehow?
Limit it to 1,000 members, and each member has to pay $100 per share and limit it to 1 share?
Then buy the truck with the proceeds of the "stock sale".
Just thinking aloud here.

Makes sense to me. Incorporate.

I'm IN!

For 100k, we could pick up a Marlboro and the Pace truck and put them both in museums.

Been to both. HAN has a 'feel' about it. Like a city-wide party in Reno.

BTTF and Car Craft are a thing to behold, but are limited to the fairgrounds and the Porky's strip.

Maybe it's the differences in layout, but the cruise in from Tahoe to Reno was one of the coolest things I've done. SyTy wise.

It probably helps that I got to drive Marly #1 through the hwys of tahoe with the top off and rear window down.

I think anybody who hasn't done both hasn't lived. I suspect there are other such events.

If it weren't for the SyTy world, I would have never done either.

Viva la SyTy!

Consider this your invite to BTTF or Car Craft, Dave. If you've never been, you gotta do it once.
Either vette or Ty.

Not dogging HAN, but 20k+ cars is something everybody needs to see.

I'm glad that there are some open-minded "thinkers" here.

Sometimes I think I have a mild case or Tourette's, because I will just blurt out whatever I'm thinking.

I mean, gosh,I have seen posts that I've made that made me blush.

This thread really opened my eye. There really are limitless posibilites aboot every aspect of this "auction".

So thank you brothers, for helping me further understand complex issues.

I usually just form an opinion, and ASSUME that, not being a retard by any stretch of the imagination,I am correct.

:haha:

What can I say?I just call it confidence.

I mean ****,if I don't believe in me,who will?

So far,so good.

Re: Customrestore selling all his stuff?

It's too bad that he is selling his collection. I hope it is because he might be tired of having them and the cost of keeping the building and extra costs are just not worth it . If it is for financial reasons, hey that is business sometimes. I'd sure like to have $100k kicking around to buy a Marl Syclone though.
