Great link; that made my stomach hurt (haha).

Been away for the week but wouldn't it be great IF "the PPG comes to Tennessee".....nice rhyme.
PPG will prolly have a reserve north of 100k.

I'm fairly certain that this is not a no reserve fire sale.

:dunno:

You ain't born round then die square.I'm sure this iis part of John's master plan.

He's prolly pretty savvy.

I maen c'mon, dude just bought a no mile Sy recently for 37k.

Hope to find out for sure. If it is a chapter 7 sale, I will be there in person. If it is a tactic to liquidate some of the stash while driving the sale prices high (ironic it IS in conjunction with a big weekend car event), I will lay low. Mainly, all the PPG would do is sit in the garage anyway but it has been my dream truck since I learned about it....

It's funny because for a long time I thought he *only* was collecting SyTys. Had no idea of all the other cars. That row of TTA's is  not to mention the italian rides.

I knew he was collecting other cars. At the time of the SyTy spending spree he was also buying old and new TTA's and 928 Porsche on ebay.

fap, fap, fap. Stop stroking yourself.

That's all it can do is sit. It has a GM scrap title, and can never be licensed or registered. Unless you "number it" using another VIN. But then it's not the PPG's VIN anymore, is it?

it could prolly be bought for 120k.

:dunno:

Dig,

I have to agree that has to have been one of the coolest if not greatest weeks of my life. I have never had so much fun.

My favorite part was racing back from Reno in the Ferrocious Racing Syclone doing 140 plus for 60 straight minutes racing a Mercedes through the curves.

It was a blast.

Sharring a room with Chooey - very scarry

Maybe it's the differences in layout, but the cruise in from Tahoe to Reno was one of the coolest things I've done. SyTy wise.

It probably helps that I got to drive Marly #1 through the hwys of tahoe with the top off and rear window down.

You can get a NEW vin issued for it in Michigan and other states. It wont be the original, but would/could be listed as "formerly vin XXXX new vin XXXX". I have seen that done here and with a Nevada reissued vin...

Re: Customrestore selling all his stuff?

Hello everyone and thanks for the interest and speculation. I am not in bankruptcy, I'm not selling because I'm broke. I am mearly thinning the heard. I plan on continuing to collect as I have been. Some vehicles will have a reserve, some will not. I will not have outragious reserves. I intend to sell these vehicles.
I am still interested in doing the nats in Reno as I am not leaving the Sy/Ty community and will retain some of my Sy/Ty's.
PM me for any questions except what the reserves will be.
Thanks, John aka Customrestore

Thats great to hear, but why not thin out some of the less rare ones??? I'd keep the marlboro's and PPG and sell the rest personally!

I thought about that too, then I changed my mind. I'd sell those and keep the ones I could drive.

very glad to hear you are selling for a reason of your own. What are you planning on scooping up next?

I think I know the reason behind the auction and it has something to do with 40 or so very cool bumble bees.
