About 12+ stock Sy's in front of the line of T/A's - Camaros. Has to be upwards of 30+ Sy/Ty's in that place. :dropjaw:

Is everything going to be sold for what it bids up to? I mean, are there going to be reserves? Imagine buying that PPG for $60K (not sure the exact amount) and it goes for $20K? :(

Too bad it wasn't closer, I would really be interested.

Yup, almost every pic you click on has Sy's and Ty's in the background... amazing

Re: Customrestore selling all his stuff

Remember when he was on ebay buying everything SyTy related and all of the trucks?
Would be interesting to dig those threads up to see what they were bought for and how big of a hit (if any) the investment in them turns out to be.

I guess we'll have a WHOLE bunch of new owners soon.... wonder what this will do to the value of our trucks...

Notice how the regular SyTy's aren't featured in the pictures. Only the PPG and Marlboro's.

Could someone explain who customrestore is, and how he came to amass such a collection? That is a lot of money there.....

Two sides of the fence on this one and each side (help & hurt) can make logical sense.
It will be VERY interesting to see what ACTUALLY happens. If I could prognosticate this one, I could make a killing, but I'm not that good.

I have a strong feeling I will be there.

Will also be interesting to see opinions on Nats in Reno. I know I would have loved to see this collection if the meet was in Reno and it would sway my vote. I may still see it, but a year early.

george works for my friend selling foreclosed realestate

my friend said he could probably get a decent price on some of these vehicles before the auction

Someone has to head to Reno in August and document all this stuff for the community.....this is somewhat shocking.

Re: Customrestore selling all his stuff

i'm sure the auction house will list everything that is in the inventory. i hope everything is ok w/ customrestore...i've only ever spoken with him on the phone but he was always incredibly nice and obviously was a pure car lover at heart.

i'd rather not speculate as to whats going on with it...but hopefully the sytys won't be sold at rock bottom prices, i was always hoping that somehow his huge collection would end up driving prices up. when he was buying all them up off ebay a lot of trucks came out of the woodwork and a lot of trucks sold for way more than they would sell for right now. he single handedly drove the prices up for a few months, and didn't win everything he bid on.

when i think about his collection i just wonder of the chore of keeping all the keys straight for which goes with which car. as far as i know there were over 70 sytys in his collection. i was really hoping to make it there to see it...and was really hoping to collaborate on a NATS with him...but if he's having to ditch them all i really am curious of what'll happen to the collection now.

hope everything is ok, john. best of luck to you.

If I can manage to take the weekend off I may take a trip up there for this auction. If not, it looks like it will be something that can be followed online. Hate to see something like his happen, just have to hope that these cars make it to a good home...

No where in the auction listing does is say BANKRUPTCY 99.999999% of the time when its a court or BK auction they list in the auction either by order of the court or BK auction, absolute auction, or no reserve, I have a feeling theres a different plan going on here. Id say all of the cars will have reserves and very few will sell

The wife and I were planning on being in Oregon in August... now we'll be in Reno and Oregon. If the auction site doesn't get all the pertinent info online I'll do my best to take pics of everything and log VIN #'s, etc.

I have talked to John(CustomRestore) several times and he is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet and he is the ultimate collector as you can see in those auction pictures.

Re: Customrestore selling all his stuff

I tried counting the SY's and TY's in the background. I came up with 12 or so SY's, 3 Marlboros, 1 PPG, and 20 or so TY's.

Does anyone know why or how he ended up with such a huge collection?? There are a good number of new cars ( 8 yellow transformer camaros, a dozen or so new pontiacs, etc)

This is probably the worst time EVER to sell those trucks :(

Bummer for him, that was a LOT of time wasted just to locate it all.

I REALLY have a hard time believing he isnt a member of the board. Maybe after this is over he will "come out"?! ---
