That's really cool. They gotta bring some of that stuff out to CA. I'm waitin to hear about the fisrt story of someone trying to get drunk off this stuff, haha.

Check out this site http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E85 and go about 1/3 the way down to the standard engines and read the 7th paragaph, seems like this could be a good option. The only thing I'm a little worried about is the deterioration of the fuel lines, etc. Seems like if ya keep the water out ya should be ok though

E85 gives particularly good results in turbocharged cars due to its high octane

Re: e-85 fuel and it's benifits.

The reason for this non-intuitive difference is that the turbocharged engine seems especially well-suited for operation on E85, for it in effect has a variable compression ratio capability, which is exactly what is needed to accommodate varying ethanol and gasoline ratios that occur in practice in an FFV. At light load cruise, the turbocharged engine operates as a low compression engine. Under high load and high manifold boost pressures, such as accelerating to pass or merge onto a highway, it makes full use of the higher octane of E85. It appears that due to the better ignition timing and better engine performance on a fuel of 100 octane, the driver spends less time at high throttle openings, and can cruise in a higher gear and at lower throttle openings than is possible on 100% premium gasoline. In daily commute driving, mostly highway, 100% E85 in a turbocharged car can hit fuel mileages of over 90% of the normal gasoline fuel economy. Tests indicate approximately a 5% increase in engine performance is possible by switching to E85 fuel in high performance cars.

Boy I wish we had that stuff here I have been reading nothing but good stuff about it. One this to keep in mine the the E85 for WOT you will need to run the truck richer it will want
9-1 air/fuel ratio for max power.

Hmm, if I ever take the Sy out to Madison I'll have to get some E-85. 10.0:1 compression and 87 octane do not mix:rotf:

You know it's funny the news media keeps going on about the price of gasoline here in California but never say anything about resolving the problem like doing a story on why they don't let any of it be sold here in californina. Ehhh go figure.
