Free lunch and dinner on me to anybody that shows up and help. We might also need a bone stock engine bay to look at when putting things back together.

I wish I could help but I'll be out of town this weekend. :(

Started at 7 am PST, stopped today at 1am PST. Old motor out, chrome stuff moved over, new motor back in, mostly assembled, enough to fire it long enough to set timing. It started on first try within 3 seconds. Was nice. Long day today but tomorrow should be a bit more laid back.

60 miles on it now, Richard is driving it home. Had a water leak to resolve, and the new PS pulley sucked to get on but we got it. Hopefully he takes some pictures as his engine is now my favorite stock syty engine bay. We gave him a hard time about chrome all weekend but I truly do like how it looks.

Truck is running rather well, get a few miles on it and he should be good to go for awhile.

First of all, I like to thank Jeff Scott (TwinTurboV8Ty) and his entire family (dad, mom, brothers), Paul Schwab (skywayb), Roland Black, Steve (Chest Rockwell), Steve Proudlock, and Dennis Hogan for helping out with this engine swap. Your hard work and dedication are greatly appreciated and will be remembered for a long long time.

I got a 100 miles on it now, and it's running great. It pulls hard and idles smoothly. Plus, it's pretty quiet compared to my previous engine.

Below are some pics taken from the engine swap.

I'll put up some pics of the new engine later as I have to go out and snap them.

Nice work! I like your headers! What's on them? What was wrong that required you to swap the engine? Didn't your other one have to go back to the shop?

Old motor I believe was machining with a bit more clearance than most would like. Best way to describe it is it sounds like a diesel. New motor was running real nice and smooth.

It was a fun adventure, Richard has a few lose ends to tie up, 1 bracket we missed until the end just kind of ran out of time. Worked from 7am - 1am friday, and 11am-11pm saturday.

You guys will like his final engine shots, it has become my new favorite stockish syty engine bay for sure.

Thanks to Richard for providing the entertainment for us. Lots of inside jokes and kept us all smiling.

I also learned if you feed 6 guys Teriyaki for lunch, couple hours later you can start a band. No singer just a bunch of musical instruments complete with aroma effects.

I like the way the rockers morphed from silver to gold...

My headers and downpipe are ceramic coated, and so far they have held up for more than 30K miles. The other engine was very noisy - some piston slap and clacking sound when cold. It didn't sound smooth at all. However, it ran smoothly and had a great idle. The new engine is quiet, almost stock like.
