Steve is the or one of the guys who came up with the "Shrifter"
http://www.pro-touring.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5519&highlight=shrifter

Nice guy and Ive spoken to him on the phone during the power tour but unfortunately the shrifter wont work with most OEM steering wheels so I didnt pursue the installation of one of their units on my truck after finding that out (I have enough trouble getting my big butt in/out without the steering wheel being closer to me than it already is).

The other reason I didnt use it was that most "foot brake" classes that Ive ever been in at the track wont allow any kind of aftermarket automatic shifting set up...either electrical or pneumatic (aka air shifter) which means Id be stuck in the "pro" catagory. Since a momentary switch placed in a less than obvious location but easily accessable works just as good with the "bump shift" of the TCI control thats the route I went. Even if tech finds the switch it looks like a theft deterant (not that Id say that.... ;) ) rather than a nice shiney billet thingy hanging off the back of the steering wheel for everyone to see...as well as protest/complain about when they get beat.

Anyways, its a nice set up and if it wasnt for the above two installation toe stubbings Id have one (hmmmm now that I think about it maybe the dually needs one  )

Re: F1 style paddle shift install

Ok try it now. I figured out what I did wrong. I placed the images for the article in the admin section of gallery2 thinking they would be hidden from public viewing, but still a place to archive my misc. images. Well when I cut and paste the hyperlinks from the images to the html within the article I did so when I was logged in as administrator which has restricted viewing permissions to the images. I didn't want to open the viewing permissions to the public, so I saved the images back to the desktop, reloaded them up to my Ivanko gallery where everyone can view even if not logged into the gallery.

You are correct. 4L60E is the updated 700R4. Same basic internals as a 700, but with electronic control.
