hey guys i was wondering if there is a 1/4 mile et fastest list thread for syclones and typhoons here somewhere. if not then it would be awesome if a list was made

us syty guys.. do not measure how fast are vehicles are in the 1/4 mile. we measure how long they are on jackstands :lol:

I like the idea but that opens the door to tons of arguments.
What is considered a syty by some people may not from others.
Will i be on the top of the list? hell no
will i be on the list? yes
would people consider my truck a syty? no (it is )

There used to be a much longer list, but it went 'bye-bye' with the forum upgrade.
There is a new list now, but only a handful of people are on it so far:

i saw the list that is up on the garage right now and i saw a camaro z28 :rant:
as for requirements on the list should be:
build number for syclone or typhoon
time slip info (60ft, 330', R/T, 1/8 mph 1/4 mph track name and location) scan if possible or clip
modifications and tires used
awd or rwd conversion
member name and date
even though a few people are on it, thats ok the list has to start somewhere. if i take a normal s-10 and put a turbo'd ls1 then it should not be on the list as the list is reserved for actual SyTys. :tup:

as long as its a original SyTy with its build number u can be single turbo/twin turbo/twin screw/v8 or v6 whatever gets that Syclone or Typhoon down the strip
just as long as its a SyTy :myclone:
but where is the syty line drawn... only V6's?? only Syty VINs?? only turbo trucks??
catch more street racers by surprise if your build and times aren't plastered on the net.

If someone took a GTO and made it FWD, and a inline 4. Would it still be a GTO just because it has the GTO vin?
SyTy's need 4 things to be a TRUE SyTy.
1) SyTy vin
2,) 4.3 based V6
3.) Single Turbo
4.) AWD

i agree with #1
#2, #3, #4, are all user preference, and need not apply to still be a syty. For that matter, any CLONE, would be ok with me.
Like Dig said, I think if you swapped the seats out for a race seat, its not a SYTY, :rotf:

This is not directed towards any one particular person but here is my view.
Who are you to decide what fits and what doesn't?
Make the list, provide ALL information regarding power train, awd/rwd and the form of power adder(s)
Once that list is compiled it will have all the information for each individual person to make their own determination.
