Like with the other thread, it's cheapest OR best, you don't get both, so you decide.

Cheapest, turn down the torsion bars = free.

Best, IMO tubular control arms and coil overs = $1,000-1,500 depending on options.

Turn the torsion bars, if you hate the way it rides you know that you either need to go back or spend some coin.

The belltech kit only ran me about $350 on summit if I remember correctly then another couple hundred for install. The ride quality isn't the greatest though unfortunately. I plan on blowing it apart within the next month and the coilover conversion is on my list of things to do.

Not sure where all the hostility is coming from? We're simply talking about the different methods of lowering our trucks...and besides, it shouldn't worry you if we break our trucks.

DaveP is kind of our voice of reason from time to time. While he comes off harsh he is knowledgeable about our trucks, so don't take offense to his unique delivery.

I think he is saying it is a bit backwards to slam a SyTy to the ground because of loss of ride quality (we have lots of that to spare) and chances of prematurely wearing components. Not to mention there is a trade off between looks and performance depending on how extreme one gets with the suspension.

Re: Front lowering options??

I wasn't offended by it really, it was just a little intense, that's all :) Yeah, I've read up a little bit about the negative points to lowering a Sy/Ty so I had an idea of what I was getting myself into.

HA. Get a nice small block 64 Vette, put some 6" fender flares on it,paint it pink and put a big block 396 into it and call it a survivor in the NCRS tent and see what happens.

Open you mind.

Dave's forgot more than you know. For real.

Re: Front lowering options??

I'm running the coils up front and wouldnt ever look back, not to mention how low I have them but also the ride quality over the torsion bars was a huge night and day difference. I have them on a stiffer setting so I won't hit cladding and I have hit Some massive potholes and still nothing broken.

What are you running for your back set up ??

Re: Front lowering options??

What about with my stock control arms can I still go coilover with out having to go with the tubular control arms.

Don't get me wrong I'd love to go with that whole kit but it's pricey

Yes, but a little modification is required.
