Steve - he mentioned somebody had come to look at it awhile ago but I didn't know it was you. Small world. His shop is like 5 minutes from my house. My neighbor told me about the truck - saw pictures posted at the sales counter. Owner runs a diesel truck parts supply place.
Yep...it was me. I was "this" close to buying it. My credit union is verrry easy to deal with and the rates are amazing, but there was no getting around the fact that the title is not in the current "owners" name. Sure, I could've applied for a personal loan, but the rates would have been much higher than a used car loan.
As it turns out, I used the money (in theory) to replace my aging Forester with a newer one. So, all's well.
Ken - there is a lot of surface rust on the undercarriage...but I didn't notice anything major, like rot. The brake drums and exhaust have been painted gloss black. :squint:
Note - that license plate on the truck is not for the truck...it is not currently registered.
