Re: FS- Syclone #0725 with 957.8 OG miles in San Diego

When we replace them these days, we set them to whatever mileage shows on the previous cluster. I can't imagine they did it any differently then.

I did call my local GMC dealer and gave them my VIN and spoke with the Service Mgr about the process when changing clusters. He informed me that if indeed a cluster is changed that has the ODO attached, they ALWAYS without fail set the ODO back to what it was when the vehicle came in. He also back checked as far back as possible to see if he could find any work performed. He did not find anything. I further tried to get hold of the GMC dealer that supposedly did the work back in 1991 and found out they have closed up shop. I did find their old website but it is no longer valid. I have zero doubt that the miles are true and correct 100%. I am willing to bet that the oil pressure gauge was what was faulty and was replaced if we are to believe what sportmachines.com has written on their website.

It's not a big deal and I'm sure the truck speaks for itself, just trying to gain a little knowledge.

Good luck man.

I have seen dealers ( and done it at dealers) where they but them in at 0 put a sticker in the driver door jamb with the current miles.

You are not raining on my parade one bit. I have not seen a lower mile one but I am sure they are out there.

No flat spots on the tires. Was stored on wheel dollies at one point but not jack stands. I believe the miles were spread over a period of years from new aside from the miles I put on her.

I should have posted detailed regularly. I calybarred it once. The paint is great.

I was considering converting the A/C to 134 so no need to recharge the R12.

The cladding looks perfect as per the pics. It is an OEM piece and matches perfect. The original is fixed and wrapped. I did not install it because the new OEM piece looks as it should.

I bought it with 720 miles about 4 months ago. I drove her yesterday.

Hope this answers your questions.

I believe this truck came from NC, the same person I bought my Ty from a month and a half ago. I had the opportunity to look at it before it was shipped and I will say it still had the new car smell and there wasn't one scratch in the bed. Can't speak for the mechanical side only looked at it.
