What does everyone do for their turbo gaskets...I have the one to mate it to the manifolds but what about the turbo-downpipe gasket, felpro isn't showing one and GM said it was discontinued :rotf:
 well, thats useful to know...lol. No wonder that gasket is discontinues :rotf: I guess I'm going to have to find a fun way to do the custom downpipe...
GM offered a manifold/head crush type gasket to help seal some v-8 heads.
Since the ports are almost the same we can use those.
Turbotime.us offers them.
The Turbo to DP is a std 3 bolt exhaust configuration. 2.5" I believe.
The oil drain gasket on the bottom of the turbo can be found at hahnracecraft.com
hahn rocks.
From the manifold to the turbo flange, I put a thin layer of bearing grease on both surfaces and bolted them together. Read somewhere that it 'cooks' and provides a nice seal when used in moderation.
I do actually use Anti-Seize on all my gaskets. It fills in the little imperfections and makes the best seal possible, and it also allows the gasket to come back out in 1 piece, so you can reuse it if you happen to need to take everything apart 2 days later, or save on cleanup time if it needs to come apart 5 years from now
I just bought a pair of copper gaskets like mentioned above for GM v8's, perfect fit...I got the turbo cleaned up and the wastegate ported and they included a gasket to mate it to the manifolds....so I guess all thats left now is get an intercooler, FMU, SS oil lines, and get all on there and tuned with a custom downpipe.... :rotf: if only it were as simple as it sounds on screen
