Sy-1177
Turbo Inside
Well, today was not a good day for me and the Sy
Let me start off with the story:
About 2 weeks ago I take the truck out for a cruise and i'm just about ready to call it a night, and as i'm close to my house and think to myself "its been a while since I did a launch" So, about 5 houses away, I stop and start to build boost then BAM! I thought for sure my propshaft finally gave out since its a junky stocker. I make it the 3 houses down to my house no problem, park it and call it a day.
Today, (11/10) a friend comes over and we work on his truck for a few hours (Sy-1178) So it got me thinking "hmmm, I should swap out that propshaft quick and take the truck for a spin" Hop underneath there and see the carnage. Propshaft is ok, front diff busted the case!! Looks like where the propshaft bolts to the spline, the case is all broken up.... so at any rate i'm running 2wd and want to do a burnout. So we hop in the truck, go about 10 houses down, turn around so i'm heading home and break them loose. I left about a 100-200 footer and as i'm pulling in the driveway I look in the rearview to see a cop heading my way fast! So I pull the truck in the garage, we get out and stand by his truck as the cop pulls in.
He immediately asks who was driving which I said "Me" then goes on and on about how stupid I am blah blah and starts writing a ticket. Comes back out asking for insurance for the truck and points to Sy-1178. I say I have no idea, I was driving my truck and point in the garage to my truck. He says oh, goes in the cruiser and comes right back with the same ticket. I sign it and he goes on his way.
All the ticket says is "did operate said motor vehicle on a public highway without reguard to the safety of persons and or property"
So my question is now, how can I fight this? He didn't know who was driving and he has the wrong vehicle listed on the citation. I already plan to plea not guilty when I go to court on wed. in hopes of working out a lower charge with the prosecutor but we'll see what happens.
Oh, and here are the marks!
Sorry they weren't closer pics, but it was the best I could get at the moment.
