Geez. An OG thread. I haven't heard from you Jimmy for a long time. What happened, you loose my number? I always get a kick out of a conversation with my TN hillbilly buddy. You still bending sheet metal at Carrier?
Then there's my pal Phil. We've had a couple conversations on the other board, and got together for a rendezvous in Colorado a few years ago when we both happened to be in the same place at the same time and made it happen. That was cool too. Because that's what friends do: Make things happen.
I'm just getting old. Shit hurts. I'm not as strong, and I don't see very well any longer. Makes it tough to wrench on things for pleasure or profit. I hate SoCal traffic in that there is no longer "rush hour", it's just jammed anywhere you go, no matter what time you leave. There's too many people. Density is too high. So I find the easiest way to deal with it is I just don't go out at all. Makes it tough to get any work done on the boats if I won't get in the truck to go the boat and do it.
I guess I'm the last of the 3 of us that still has a SyTy. I have one of each. I've never finished the BurnJob, but its a beautiful Sy. It's been running since 2004 and I've put 8 miles on it. Someday I'll put the cladding on it and sell it. The Wht/gry runs great, its my travel car if I don't need the Super Duty's towing capacity. I put about 5,000 miles a year on it and rarely have to do anything to it. This summer, I added a C4 ZR-1 to the fleet. I've put about 1l,000 miles on it so far, and I still grin every time I nail it. For 30 year old technology, it gets it done.
Take care, my friends.
