I Can't Take It Anymore!!!

I bet that most people on the board with a Typhoon can agree that this damn rear window pisses them off. I for one am tired of re-greasing and applying electrical tape to the hook and pin on the rear window to keep the squeak away.

I don't have the equipment to fabricate something myself, but do you think someone could possibly find a way to re-create these parts in a solid, strong ABS plastic? I'm guessing that would make the squeaking go away right? Or maybe some kind of silicone gel covers (similar to the protective ipod covers) that would be durable enough to not wear out too quickly?

If all else fails I guess we could just....get Syclones instead =\

I've probably got the most ghetto quick-fix yet for my Ty. I just use a zip-lock bag tucked in the latch. No squeaks yet........ But yeah, that back window sucks!

I used plasti dip on the chrome loop no noise for me before thatI just installed a louder radio

When I had my Ty,I would take a small length of about 1 1/2" long vacuum tubing,splice it lengthwise down the middle,then zip tie it to the bottom part of the hoop,and close the glass.The 1st couple of times it's pretty tight till it wears away some of the tubing.I had to do this 2 times in the almost 7 years of owning my Ty.

I tried it all then I took a 1 foot piece of 3/8 fuel line and slowly set it between the rear door and plastic as I closed it and BAMMMM its all gone,no more squeaks...I thought for sure it was the glass,turns out it must have been the stupid removable pins on the rear door hatch...Try it..I have no squeaks at all,even over bumps..
Im thinking about selling these in a group purchase,DVD instruction video included..lol

Plasti-dip sounds like a GREAT Idea! Does it ever wear out? How long have you had it on there? Also.... How Thick Is It?

I'm going to try this out... if It works it should be stickied!

Ok, I did the plasti dip mod... worked like a charm! :tup: I don't know hoe long this will last, but I'm guessing several years!

I adjusted the catch inside the tailgate.I took the interior trim piece off,looosend the two 10 mm latch bolts,closed the gate and glass,then got in the back and held the latch down as tight as it would go,then tightend up the bolts.

I just globed on some Sil-Glide (silicone gel) a few months ago, and it hasn't squeaked since. Did the same thing on a friends Blazer, she thankful the squeak was gone.

GM apparently did not bother addressing this in later generations as my 2001 ZR2 Blazer rear window squeeks like hell also. Seems to get worse when it is cold.

Mine used to squeek like hell, replaced the rear window seal & never heard it sence.. Like $110 for the seal.

the window on mine doesn't really bother me. It doesn't do it that often. I am more annoyed by the rear seat flop.

I haven't had a problem with my Ty yet, but what i did with my Blazer was get a long strip of aprox 1/4" thick foam tape(sticky only on one side) and applied it to the bottom of the window...worked, but I sold the truck, so I'm not too sure how long it would have lasted.

I have a little squeak in the Typhoon but it really doesn't bother me. However, my Blazer rattles, that is just about to drive me crazy, I have tried the electrical tape to no avail so I figure its coming from the tailgate?
