Hey all, new to the forum/ownership. I've had a 92 Ty w/ 67k on it for about 3 weeks now. The motor started knocking like crazy. I have it out down to the bare block at a friends perf. shop. All main bearings were scarred and two rod bearings were causing the knock.
My plan is as follows and I would like anyone's input as to how much power to expect and how retarded I might be with what I'm doing lol.
-block/heads hot tanked, decked, block bored .030 over.
-crankshaft machined/polished
-melling oil pump, new water pump, engine gasket kit, main, rod & cam bearings,
-AN lines/fittings for oil feed/return, same for aftermarket trans cooler w/ fan
-valve springs (free...) poss. cam??
-eagle rods, TRW 8.5 pistons
-50 trim turbo w/ air to air FMIC (already on truck)
-3" turbo back exhaust
-Truck already has a chip setup that I'm not sure of. I've seen pictures of someones on here. It has steps 0-9 on a little switch/indicator thing. 0 shuts fuel off and from what i'm told theres a valet setting, and blah blah. I need to know if the stock injectors (35lb?) can handle boost levels around 20 or so psi. I know a 3 bar map is needed. If someone can tell me what kind of chip setup I have and if that can handle what I'm doing, that would help.
