Ok, so I am a HUGE fan of Sy/Ty and wanted to show you guys this.

I'm a 15 yr old kid and I have been working on this for some time. I have gotten good responses from other model builders, but since you guys know these trucks inside and out, it would be great to have your opinion.

I took two 1/25 model kits of the syclone and desided to build a what if or concept, what if GM made a CREW CAB syclone??

I'm am trying to make it as stock as it would of been like from GM, but I can't find ANY chassis pics of real sy to get it right. All I know so far is the kit chassis is for the s10 and not the syclone. So any help there would be possible.

Here's the link:

I'm not trying to spam or anything, I just want to know what you guys think, so please help me.

I'm just stuck on the chassis because I've heard it is not right, and syclones had no spare tire so I have to fix that too.

So please let me know what you think of it and if you have any chassis pics of stock real syclones, that would be a GREAT help.

Thanks for lookin.

a little late for this, but here is an actual prototype Crew Cab S10 built by GM that made an appearance at the 2003 S-Series Nationals. Looks like you cut the bed a little shorter like the 2nd Generation Crew Cabs were produced.

Re: I want to know what you guys think.

isnt that a export truck too?

I'm not 100% sure, I think there was a discussion about that at the time of the show. I cant seem to find the other pictures I took of the truck and its documentation. If there were production exports, then they certainly had to do some changes over the prototype, especially the brakes, I know the owner said they were sub-par for the weight of the vehicle and there were even notes in the paperwork he had stating such, along with other possible chassis/suspension upgrades that would be needed.

yeah I think it was. The sheet metal between the gas door and the back of the cab appears longer than a short bed.

Re: I want to know what you guys think.

Thanks guys. I just thought it would be cool if it was real, but obviously would be a bit slower.

I made the bed short because I thought it would make it look a bit sportier, not so long, and I wanted it to look like it came before the 2nd gen crew cab. I have never seen those pictures of that prototype before, very cool.

I do have a 99 sonoma that my dad gave me for when I get my lisence and I love it(get my learners in 4months), but I like your guys trucks 10x more. I personally like em stock forsome reason, I guess I just like original stuff.

I build models semi regularly (when Im real bored in the winter with nothing else to do) and I think you are doing a fine job. However, confirms my suspicions that I would never buy a Syclone, even one with as much room as a Typhoon:rotf:

Those prototypes may have looked kinda cool with a short bed..

I would also buy a all white 93 typhoon if you built one. I have been looking every where. I have found the syclone models but not one of the Typhoon. Let me know what you think.

Re: I want to know what you guys think.

I was accually thinking of doing a typhoon after I finished this one. I think it would be easier to scratch builld and modify the syclone the pieces for it(body, frame, interior etc..) and then have it resin casted so I can make multiple copies with out doing all the body work over again.

The thing is though is that I would need deminsions and stuff(how shorter, window size etc) if I do do it.

If there is a big enough demand for them then I might consider having someone casting them after I get one done.

I'll keep you guys updated.
