new to the ty world from ma, will be getting towed back to my house today . anything u can tell me to look for would be great. just picked up a ty with a lower end noise , need info what i should do well motor is out. will post up mods when i tear down. i know it has a bigger turbo front mount intercooler headers ext fuel pump kennybell fuel press reg manual boost controller . any info were to get motor parts would would be great help thanks pics added updated

not sure if they are stock injectors black with red stripe any clue

Where are you located in MA?

The stock injectors are red. The first thing to do with an engine out that comes to my mind is replace the motor mounts. What are you planning on doing with the Ty from a performance stand point? Their are few '90's catalog truck' that are still around. Those trucks often are in poor tune and/or blown motors. You may have to do some additional work & tuning to your ty besides fix the engine noise.

When Kenne Bell and ATR was still around and you could buy all the SyTy Stage kits for the trucks from the catalogs. Lots of people did and threw on every item they could and most of those trucks ended up blown up or run like complete shit due to early parts development with poor research and/or lack of knowledge how modified parts work together and not knowing how to tune.

Look through the Vendors pages on here for some of the turn-key motor packages, I know if you get in contact with one of them they can set you up with a turn-key or piece by piece motor build. The package main depend on how much power you are looking to make.

Welcome aboard I'm from RI and also looking for an engine. Not sure which option you want to go, but there are a few that have some stock engines for us. Might have to travel some for it though.

Was this the one For Sale on Cragslist in Prov. about a month or so ago??????

no i got it in mass ,did you tear your motor out yet if so what did you find with it. thanks and you aren t that far we may be able to use each other in our swaps

I overboosted mine took out the rod/piston in #6, block is toast.

That's fine with helping each other out.:D

Pull the motor, figure out what the problem is with the motor. It might be as simple as a spun bearing that can be polished out or you might need a new crank/rod. Either way do a basic rebuild. Might need a new crank(?) good rods, pistons, could do a slightly larger cam, vortec heads. What size turbo is on the truck? After that look at injectors, a stall and a good tune. That'll be good for the motor. Might want to get a shift kit for the trans, and get a larger cooler for it with a fan.

Chances are its a problem from rod knock ( a poor tune ) for a LONG time ---
