Re: Just purchased Shaun Palmer's Pike's Peak Wheels and Wide Body Fenders
I think that he is looking to get fiberglass molds built so that he can make fiberglass reproductions. If he just gets an open face molds made they will be large but its just a couple hundred dollars in material + a ton of time.. It will need to be a flanged multiple piece mold so that the new parts are able to be released when they are laid up in the mold.
Any pics and/or measurements of the fenders that show how much they differ from stock?

SY2932 said:Wow, that would be a HUGE mold. The price of the stock to cut *one* mold plus the design/machine time would be the down payment on a house easy. The table on the CNC I operate has a machining window of 64" X 32".

I have never had to cut something close to that size in that mill. On the other one that's a different story. When the boss starts taking measurements around the mill, things usually get "interesting".![]()
I hope that something materializes out of this. Just for some friendly FYI, How much more does the "wide" fenders protrude over the stock ones? And is the draft angle close to the same?
