Thanks again Fern.

I think what is really the critical dimension here are where the holes are located.

right click and "Save Picture As"

I did my best on the measurements, should be good. I didt want to give the hole centers because there would be to much guessing on my part so I just gave the outside dimentions. Couldnt you guys just resize these brackets in a program, print them out, then measure the external diamentions I gave and compare them to the print?? This would seem easier determining the hole locations?? The part of the bracket with the curve cut is the part that bolts to the spindle. If you cut the bracket the exact external diamentions, remove the hub, then you can mark the holes from the opposit side of the spindle. Fern

Good idea that is what I will do. Thanks again

brackets

brackets

get me some proper dimensions, i.e. hole centers, diameters, and radius and I'll redraw them in autocad. Then if someone will host them you could use the .dfx to print to scale or output to a shop for laser cutting or cam. I'll then be in for a set if someone will be making them.

I can easily get these done in qty cheap.

Just need to know how many want them, and if we can get 1 set test fit first to be sure things are good before I go have lazer guy spit out a bunch.

I will need to check, but from my past costs, $40 a set + shipping lazer cut, possibly from stainless wouldn't be hard to do.

I also need to know the width.

If someone wants to organize it, collect names, etc I can get them cut.

below is a pic of a front spindle from a 98+ s-series.
out of curiousity, would a ls1 caliper bracket bolt up to this spindle?

skata, it should. do you have that spindle handy? if you can measure from center to center of the two bolts on the bearing/hub assembly that are closest to the caliper. i'll measure the same on an older one then we'll know for sure.

i stole that picture off ebay.
does anybody here have a 98+ s-series 4x4 that they could measure?

since nobody has mentioned this yet, has anyone picked up a Baer bracket for their 12" Sport system to see if that will work?
and if it does then it'll save some time and measuring that nobody is willing to do yet (not making excuses but i don't have a garage).

i called Baer, they sell replacement brackets at $85 each. a little rich for me but i'll probably end up trying one anyways.

wow, this post hasn't gone anywhere.

well i talked to someone at Baer and found out that their brackets will work if used with c5 corvette calipers and their centering rings. after reading about 50 websites about various brake swaps it looks like the f-body calipers are similar enough to also be used.
since then i've decided to go with 13" c5 brakes in front, i'll probably use Baers brackets, if i do i can send one over to JS Designs to get measured and duplicated if anyone's interested.

so baer said u can use their mounting bracket with a c5 caliper and 13" disc? so meaning everything would sorta bea bolt on.

yep, everything should bolt up. unless someone else gets to it i'll most likely be the guinea pig in about a month.

unless someone has a cheap source of c5 parts i'm going to buy new from a GM reseller. which isn't much cheaper than Baer's track kit.

i picked up a set of rear c5 take off brakes complete for $120 off of ebay a week ago. anybody know if the baer rear brackets will work with these and a 12" rotor?
