In my opinion paint and body work is an art....... not everybody is a artist..... AND you get what you pay for and nothing more....

You do get what you pay for. Are you looking for body work and paint or just paint? try some local shops, and if you are not in a hurry, they might be able to do it when their shop gets slow.
I had to do that.

Re: Mack

I had a iroc Camaro painted by them years ago . It looked like someone used latex paint on a roller and painted the car! it was awful!. painted the rubber , everything! I taught myself how to paint after this experience!
You can learn anything if you want it bad enough!!! Im painting my wifes c3 corvette now! $200 for the paint! (NASON BASE COAT CLEAR) $330 Divilibis sri pro gun, $135.00 worth of slick sand primer!
what im trying to say is, you would have a better chance investing in your self than maaco....

To an extent this is true...I have found a Maaco up here and the guy puts out quality work for a decent price and isn't full of himself....he'd even let you buy your own paint and he would use it and if it was shit paint he would suggest a decent paint he had exp. With. I'm getting mine done by a guy that I know who's father owns a body shop and has been doing it for a while and I gave him a free Lance time frame for a discounted price. I wasn't in any hurry and he has had it for about 1 1/2 months. I haven't seen it but he says I will be blown away when I do...I'm getting a little antsy...but good things come to those who wait right?

Yeah definitely don't have a maaco paint job on a syty. I mean the have hundreds of locations and I'm sure out of the bunch you might find a location that does a somewhat okay job but I've seen numerous maaco jobs and you could literally do a better job yourself with a makeshift booth in your garage

Re: Macco

Only way I would trust maaco would be either:
A: Take them the shell
B: Do all the masking and prep work yourself before taking it to them.

They will do a shit prep job and you will have overspray all over the place.

Find a drug addict or an alcholic painter. Those are the best.Maaco is shittier than shit, unless some alcoholic druggie is stupid enough to work there.
