Let me know what kind of temps you run with the 160.... I've got a 160 in mine and I run 180 thru 200.
Thanks - Rob

Reinstalled the 160 today and it is running MUCH cooler, i can't tell specifically how much because i don't have a scan tool etc. Its still detonating but not as much as before, my auto meter gauge is still only showing 5-8 lbs of boost  . I"m stumped.... Time for a data master purchase i guess.

This is sounding a bit like a leak in the gauge or line. The deto could be from boost being waay too high, and you're just not seeing it on the gauge.

Laptop data should answer this for you. If you have a mityvac pump, you can test the gauge.

Re: Major knock, please help!!

i can only tell you from my experience. knock is the enemy, it's usually caused by a leaning out and the combustion chamber temps are too high. i idle @ 650F @ normal coast the temp goes to 850, under full boost for 1/4 mile, i can reach 1200F.
i bought what i thought was 94 octane, running stock boost 14psi and only had slight knock when i reached 1100 F.
i increase the fuel pressure by 2 full turns clockwise and the knock was gone but the acelleration from stop light to 10 psi was slower, (too rich), after a few passes i was able to adjust to the best drivability for street.
i now run 22 psi with a few more turns of the adjustable fuel reg(ken belle) and the think launches like my Grand national with 30 psi of boost
the best way to control knock is to use a 80/20 alky injection system with a vacuum controlled switch.
i would do a few things in your situation. get the injectors tested, take them out and send them to the machine shop to see if they are giving you the right spray.and adjust the fuel pressure, check the timing, check the plugs are the right temp
the turbo sounds like it's working because it's making the burn leaner but you are not getting enough fuel causing heat and knock, good luck
