hey guys,

Starting to plan out schedule for nats.
Who is planning on going/ caravaning.

What days to leave? what route etc.

I'm thinking early thursday from st paul, drive all day thursday and leave sunday morning ot make it back sunday night.
Route would be either iowa and down or 94 down around chicago and down.

Could possibly leave wednesday night and stop half way to break it up.

post up if your planning on going and what would be a good time route

My plan thus far is to leave here (Sabin) Wed. Hopefully morning-ish. This would put me in the cities at around noon (+/- an hour or so).

Plan from there is to make Bloomington/Normal by 10-11 PM. Mapquest routes you through Chicago, and I want nothing to do with that. I've done it before, and it's faster to go around.

This should be doable, barring any traffic or ugly road construction. Keep in mind, I'm pulling a trailer like a sane person, and I have a 5 yr old in the vehicle, so the stops will likely happen. There's a few hotels on the North side of town that look ok for just sleep.

Plan is to leave there in the AM, and go the remaining 7-8 hours to BG. Sack out in the hotel, maybe a quick wash-down. I'll probably bring the small pressure washer.

I'm not one of these guys who likes to pull a trailer at 90 MPH, so if you plan on screaming down the highway, go on ahead. The IL state patrol doesn't seem to care for that speed, so be warned. Southern Indiana seemed to move a bit faster.

We're not coming back on the same time schedule (we're staying in the area an extra week), so you guys will be on your own for the way back. If you want to see some different parts of the country, you can go NW out of BG (there's a toll road), then up to St. Louis, and then take the Ave. of Sts. right back to the cities now that it's finished.

possibly could swing wednesday, not sure yet, depending on if we are taking either 1 or 2 trucks, and if we drive them or trailer..... but splitting the trip up for 2 days sounds good to me about now...

Re: MN/ND/WI Nats caravan?

idk that I will bring any ty unfortunately all of them will probably be down at that point. All though the tt's motor is on its way I doubt that it would be done in time to make it.

Maybe I will just buy another one to drive down for nats

Re: MN/ND/WI Nats caravan?

No more rust I am sick of it. I may have my 2wd 4.3 turbo truck done by then so maybe take that, or god forbid my s10 ever runs.

But I will probably just leave when ever dig does.

I could also bring some Pigs Eye, Grain belt (brain melt), or some summit. Also great MN beers.

Re: MN/ND/WI Nats caravan?

There's a thread for Nats caravaning on the MoNSTER site:

http://digware.lunarpages.com/mnster

There's also a few local event items in there... I'm working on others.
If you're aware of any car shows/cruise nights/track days in the area, please let me know so I can add them.
Also, if you're interesting in helping update the events, lemme know.

The chat component works, but it has some odd annoyances. Working on it.

I've got a guy looking to buy a pair of 92 Typhoon front seats. Would any of you Twin Cities area guys be able to transport them from Nats back to the Twin Cities?
