Re: My budget LQ4/4L80E build!

damn thats the one i need, at the time when i did mine like 4 years ago my dad ordered me a 27.5x18x3 which sucked because we had to cut the bottom of the tanks and weld in sections so that i could slip it in between the frame rails.

i mean it turned out ok but is kind of a bitch to do all that extra work, and take alot more strength away from the core support sucks to.

i do believe that one you have will not require cutting off the bottom section of the core support out either, and you still should have the same volume as mine. well i guess i have a reason to sell my setup now.

what did that radiator run you $ wise?

are you gonna run an engine driven fan or electric or both?

i ran an engine driven flex fan with an aluminum shroud that i built. it seemed to cool fine then, should still now even with adding AC but i guess i'll find out.

since you rusing a 3in core and it will be in the forward postion what do you intend to bo with the trans cooler?

running the rad in the forward postion you can still run a thin trans cooler, but if you intend to retain AC as i am, the trans cooler will need to find a new home.

nice build keep it up. whats your budget goal if you don't mind me asking?

EDIT also i'm not sure where your water pump aims but i found that if you take the lower tube on the radiator, cut it off and weld it back on coming out straight you may be able to use the 4.3 s10 rad hose. my water pump is from the 4.3 and i did it this way, it's really hard to get a rad hose for custom application so the closer to a stock type setup you can get the better.

do you have a part number on that radiator? i was looking through summit online and then only 31x16x3 has the outlets on the wrong sides, lower on driver and upper on passenger.

Re: My budget LQ4/4L80E build!

perfect thank you..

not sure if you or anyone you know can weld aluminum but if so i found it looking very clean with welding brackets to the side tanks and bolting through the core support, i've done this twice now and have gotten many compliments on it and it looks great.

just thought i'd give you some ideas, you'll be done in no time at the rate your going
