Re: My budget LQ4/4L80E build!
First off.. great job on your fabricating... if this is your first build then your doing way above most guys that do this for a living. I've had to follow up on some real hack work before...
Keep up the great work!
I am just concerened that all your nice work on the headers ,downpipe ,etc, will all rust out & deteriorate from the wrap.
He's right on that part... the wrap does such a great job of holding in heat it'll cook the metal and let it start to crack and break. It'll take a little while but it will destroy that mild steel.
this morning i went to the track with my friend in his s10. best run was 12.3 @ 127mph with a horrible 2.3 60ft. next time we go the syclone should be there too
With his 60' time.. was that spinning or just not the right converter? He's got good MPH and honelstly that's all I look at since it'll be the same regardless of spinning/wrong converter ect. Even if he hoooked it'd still run 127mph +- 1mph.
So he's making good power once it get's to the ground or start's making boost.. 127 with a good launch should put him in the mid 10's easy. So it's a matter of mis-matched parts or not enough rear end work.
That's the problem with a dyno.. it'll tell you your making XXX power but the track is the heart breaker
