My TT 408" project...

Yes. If not, the tank will build up a vacuum in it. Even if you run a "venting" style cap, I'd still run a vent. It should also have a check valve for rollover. I was thinking about putting a shuttoff on my vent since I'm running e85 as well, but I'm afraid I'd not open it one time and pffft, something else is costing me money.. I got an Ethanol tester through Amazon a while ago for around $20 shipped. If you don't have one, it's a good investment. I've tested mine after 2 months sitting & it tests the same as it did when I filled the tank. So I don't think evap through the vent is that great.

Yes those e85 testers are cool to have.
I was thinking about running one of these but they are pricey...ethanol gauge.

I seen the roll over vents offered by JEGS. Is that alone good enough? It vents under normal driving conditions and shut offs when the truck rolls over.
Ok Im reading ur post with yelling kids in the back ground. So your saying to put a cap on it when ur not driving the truck?

The little e85 Test Tube Testers are pretty accurate. I use 55 Gallon drums for store the fuel for my truck, so I test the ethanol when I get it & adjust it for what I run, around e90. As for the gauge, what engine management are you running? I think the Holley Dominator will do flex fuel sensing? You can make an electronic e85 tester with a flex fuel sensor & a meter if you want something besides the TT testers. Just do a search for e85 tester. Any rollover vent is better than no rollover vent. Make sure that your vent is large enough as well. Too small a vent at WOT will still create a vacuum. I don't cap mine when I'm not driving it, I have not found a need to.

Im using HPtuners on the stock PCM. I have one those test tubes already so Im good to go on checking the fuel. The good thing around here everyone in the group is buying e85 at the same pump. I think there is only two stations that i know of. Im going to install a -8AN vent. Thanks for your help.:D

If you can, check the ethanol content at each station, since there's only two. They may vary if they are not the same distributor. The last stuff I got from the closest e85 to me(145 Miles away :() tested e90 for e85!! -8an should be fine for the vent size.

Yes the other guys have been testing and discovered HEB grocery is way better than Kroger grocery I don't think we switch to winter blend here so it should stay some what consistent.

I read somewhere it only switches to winter blend if the temps drop below 40* for an extended period. Not sure on that though....

I love going to lunch and coming back to unopened jegs boxes.

We have banjo bolts with -6an fittings for the coolant to turbo lines.
Plugs for the edelbrock water pump ( no heater).
SS lines for the oil to turbos.

Very nice build!!:tup::tup:

Just surprised not to hear the haters of Kinugawa products LOL.:rotf:

here is another option if I choose not to cut straight through the cladding.

I will polish the tips after they are welded.

What about something like this?

It's a nascar style side exhaust, wide & low profile. You could probably fab up something similar as well. I'm assuming dual exhaust, might look kinda cool just in front of the rear wheels?
