Hello everyone!

Here is a link to her:

https://plus.google.com/u/0/101704830626701409905/posts/iv9SvsCi1tB

This photo was taken when I got home when the transmission went out. Lost 3/4 after having tons of clutch material in the fluid.

Have 8lbs of boost @ 5100rpm with a wynjammer supercharger.

Doing my first transmission rebuild. I got a gm re-manufactured 700r4 and a 1996 pwm 4l60e that hopefully between the three I have enough spare hard parts that a rebuild kit should get me back up.

Thanks for having me!

Wait its that a Typhoon or a Jimmy? Welcome, if it's a Typhoon, remember that there are some specific small differences on the SyTy transmission. I'm not exactly sure what they are but if I recall correctly they should be able to shift at WOT into the final gear, which regular Jimmy/Corvette 700r4 transmissions dont (i think)

When have you ever seen a 4 door Ty? Besides, no SyTy in the history of the world has ever been on a tow truck. :rotf:

lol we all know that SyTy's should come with their own personal tow truck :p

Wrong question... what I meant was, did you put a Syclone motor in that truck? but my question was answered when I took the time to look at the rest of the photos the truck. No syty motor.

Isnt there a "Braphoon" that's 4dr? I dont remember

Re: New member from north Houston (Willis)

Just a very abused 4.3 cpi. I purchased and built this truck for trailriding and roadtrips. We recline the seats to sleep (wife and I) our dog Dude has been cross country with us a few times in it. He sleeps on the vinyl cargo shade (reinforced) and we keep most of our bedding and light weight stuff up on the Thule roofrack attached to the cargo rails.

Idle with the ac on during hot trips and try to pack a ton of blankets when it's cold. Found some 12v heat blankets on amazon that work very well when it is -20 before windchill.

Got 21mpg in the mountains going north towards Durango through Albuquerque scaled in at 5300lbs. When packed she is just a few lbs heavier than your usual sy/ty.

This was before boost. I'm building a more robust system before our next trip up somewhere near Boston then depending on finances west over to Washington state, then follow near the coast until we get back home.

I built the towbar on the front because I lost a grill/headlight bumping a friend over an obstacle. Now I can handle 10mph impacts (accidently tested) and figured what a better front pushbars then ones I can get towed home with incaseshit.

Wife hates it when photographing from the window because it's like the ultimate photobomber.

I have seen one 4 door prototype Typhoon that was for sale on ebay a long while ago. It looked just like a 4 door Jimmy with no cladding or anything but had the Ty style interior and full Ty drivetrain. It was a silver blue color as I recall.

21mpg sounds really good to me for having an "abused" 4.3 cpi...(thats the newer style vortec right?) Must have that ignition system and fuel system running tip top. I was lucky to get 16-18 in my 91 4.3 (i think that was tbi) on a good day... and well the Typhoon didnt do so well either. To add to that you even have it stocked up at 5300lbs too. Im impressed.

You mentioned "before boost"... did you already turbo that motor? or are you looking into turboing your current motor/swapping for a syty motor.

it might be a good idea to look around on the forum to see if someone is doing an LSX swap and is getting rid of their syty motor setup... it might end up cheaper than going out and buying a turbo setup, manifold, exhaust, etc. you never know. That would be a serious sleeper lol

Re: New member from north Houston (Willis)

I take very good care of her but she is expected to perform 100%.

This is the cpi bastard intake style 92-95

I was consistently getting 19-20 through the mountains, I attribute it to driving easy and actual 100% gasoline instead of this bullshit ethanol blend.

I picked up a wynjammer for 800 bucks on st louis craigslist so we took a nice 2 week vacation up there to get it. Guy that sold it to me decided to go twin turbo, VERY beautiful build going on. Name is HOPNDUDE on s10forum.

Talking with Al the guy that makes them on the phone yesterday, he is talking me into a tach signal driven programmable fmu and a slightly higher boost pulley. 475 bolt on sounds pretty sweet for another 35-45hp.

Someday the pistons will come apart. I'm getting a nice permanent mount wideband next on the list though. Thinking about the mtx-l. I want the lean/rich/normal leds so when my wife is driving she won't have to know to stay from 18-1 ratio and just let off the throttle if she ever sees RED FLASHING LIGHTS!
