race or get outta the way
Re: New record in awd??

ok if you really want that look, but if you find other racers not talking to you or giving you funny looks (except for the kids in their hondas) then give some thought to a drag racing wing.

What i dont get is this instability thing your talking about.

fwiw just max out the front end caster and say bye bye to wandering at the top end.

also if this is the probelm you will notice at a certain mph you can use white knuckle driving to drive thru it. been there done that. :D

Re: New record in awd??

Ah the classic drag race wing :) its nice but booring :D

was/is under NHRA rulechange due to the vacum created underneth and the distance to shute may colapse the "baloon" before it takes air.

Also Robert wanted to try some different thinkin AND a minor/none damadge to body, and easy removal for street driving (same as the shute easy on easy of) and this is "top fuel" way, and he goes fast ..

The wiggling on track aint related to frontend adjusting, its pure power trying to force rear to pass front, this is realy seen (and for R feel) when secon gear is pushing all that engine delivers and going to third. this wiggling is ALL GONE with this wing..We´re happy with funktion and we grow fond of looks :D

We´r desperat looking for race to realy try set a good record but time AND RAIN have shot this season to the ground almost for good this year, we´v just heard about a race on an old track so Im lookin into it now othervice we only got Gardemoen (Norway) left

I'm not a big fan of the wing either. If it's helping then that's good.

Your truck made real good streight passes in 06. It's a big challange to get the AWD to do what your
doing.

Always have respect for you and your crew!

Good luck the rest of the year!

Re: New record in awd??

Robert did a short resume´, and yes there was rain, but the most inkompetent race management did the worst damadge to the race I ever seen..

We did travel to Gardemoen Norway, started at 3,30 in the morning and arived just before 8 o´clock
Tech inspection was starting at 9 (same time the racetrack would open) but it rained untill almost 10 ..

The crew whent out brusching water away and with tractors dragin old slicks to put rubber on track (witch allready full of it, its a racetrack for G***** E) 11.30 they started the qualifie runs and we had to go out on unprepped (no glue/trackbite) whatsoever) and U guess right smooking the tires and aborted run, then they started to drag the slicks again for about 3 hours, THEN the track bite.....(why not before?? )

Starting the race again WITH JUNIOR dragsters, and 50cc mopeds (10 -15 years kid play) then topping of with license runs AND a heavy rain now the clock is 4 in the afternoon

Hooping for 1 run atleast we hold on, and the draggin slicks and trackbite spray starts over.. almost 6 in the evening the track was "race ready" again and the started with JUNIOR dragster AGAIN... then heavy rain, so we loaded and went home

Unload and to sleep at 2´o´clock in the morning, 24 hours right down the drain AGAIN..

U might imagin what the PROSTOCK guys where thinkin about this...They might get a chans today, if not the junior drags race betwine the rain shours...

Just som ranting from me..

I´ll proly never go to that race track again

Re: New record in awd??

sounds like the big kids are mad that the little kids got to play and they didn't

:) U might like to se junior dragster run instead of running the race U´r self???

If U count the nrs of race and the length of season here, besides the cost to be on a race here U would´nt be so amused about it..

Re: New record in awd??

I have a 9 month old son and I would gladly let him race insted of me. Besides this time next year you sweeds wil be struggling to see the record more less beat it.

Hopefull it aint U´r baby

Personaly I would´nt let my 13 yeaqr old son do racing, thoug he does drive with me from time to time in deep forest roads where we are alone.

Wow; I don't get over here as often as I should, so I haven't been keeping up with everyone's builds. But talk about going straight for the top; I can't wait to see what you've got to be calling the biggest dog off the porch!

2x :D

Re: New record in awd??

Yeah its me. I dont know about shooting straight for the top. I have had and raced mine a while longer than most on here. Went 11.2 on the stock motor and have had the 1/8 mile times now on 20 psi to get into the 9.8x with the stock block and crank. So I def not new to these trucks. But will not be going back with a v6. 434lsx bottom end 6bolt et heads and a turbo big enough to eat small children. So watch out record. Should go bottom 8's at least

Then its a slightly different 'record' that you're going for. Will be great to watch all these fast v8 syty builds start plunking down some low #s. Will also be great to see the RWD syty's do the same! 2010 sounds promising!

Hows that? Still vins a sy still pay insurance for a sy, still awd And it is just as much of a change from stock to where it will end up as the bowtie builds. But in the end I guess it is still who see's tail lights.

Well shit I guees I will be in a diff class than the currrent record holder.......... But I havent seen any of the v8 swaps best him soooooooo.
