The stock radiator support was used. There are no inner fenders. That is all tubular construction. IIRC, the shell of the cab was used but the doors are fiberglass, the "frame" of the truck isn't there. It is all tubular construction with mounts welded to it. He was told to make it look as much like "factory" as possible on the outside and he did an amazing job at that.
The guy's name was Brian. Brian Coats Fabrication I think. He said if you did buy the bedsides, it's possible to "lay the shell over your bed" but it would take some work.
Oh, and I don't think the radiator is in the front either. I'm about 80% sure it was in the bed.
During the climb, they'll get clogged up with debris if it's in the front.
It's been a while but it ended up, IIRC again, that they somehow lost about 1/2 the capacity of the fuel system meaning it couldn't keep pressure up and it fell way off pace. I don't think it even finished.
